Delicious Simple Dishes My parents never taught me how to cook. So while in college I came up with some simple recipes, and they turned out to be delicious. Here are a few of them. Nutty Cottage Cheese This is something I invented to quickly give me 30grams of proteins. It's great to eat right after working out when the body is eager to absorb more nutrients. With 1/2 cup giving 13 grams of protein and 2 teaspoons of pistachios giving 4 grams of proteins, that's easily 30 grams in one cup of cottage cheese. Ingredients - 1 teaspoon of chopped green onion - 2 teaspoon of pistachios - 1 cup of cottage cheese Just scrape 1 cup of cottage cheese into your bowl. Add 2 teaspoon of pistachios into the bowl. Then add the chopped green onion. Mix it well in the bowl. Then enjoy. Yogurt Strawberry Cereal Recently I turned lactose intolerant, so in order to continue to enjoy that sweet sugar from milk, I need to eat yogurt. But I hated yogurt. When I realize I bought strawberry yogurt and raisin brand cereal, I thought if you could pour raisin brand cereal and strawberries into a bowl of milk, why not treat the strawberry yogurt as the strawberry and milk, then mix it with raisin brand cereal. It was a delicious combination. Ingredients - Strawberry Yogurt (Lucerne brand) - Raisin Brand Cereal Just throw in some raisin brand cereal into the strawberry yogurt. Mix well and enjoy. After you finish the yogurt, eat a banana! Trust me on this. Tortillas On my first attempt to make tortillas, I tried to be as level-headed as possible about what ingredients it needed. It turned out to be delicious. Sorry, no proportions or measurements. I followed my heart. Ingredients - Tortilla (Guerrero brand) - Salsa sauce with chilli (La Victoria brand) - Chopped smokey hams - Onion cuts - Cheddar cheese - Lettuce cuts Spread open a tortilla. Pour salsa sauce on the inside. Then add the chopped smokey hams, onion cuts, cheddar cheese, and lettuce cuts, in that order. Cover the top with another tortilla. Fold the tortillas so that you can easily place them between your hands. When I took a bite, it was very hot! The salsa sauce with chilli, onion cuts, and the smokey hams did it. Be careful on the first bite - don't take a huge one. After I was done, I wanted to make another tortilla Cantaloupe Complemented with Banana Slices Like how I use to hate yogurt, I had never liked cantaloupe. It felt sweet and bland at the same time. I imagined just the right fruit to take out that nasty bland flavor and make it even more sweet. Ingredients - Bowl of Cantaloupe cubes - Banana slices Cut out cubes of cantaloupe into a bowl. Then cut up slices of banana. Shake bowl. Then enjoy. This is delicious - don't underestimate the simplicity of it. Last edited on Fri Aug 15th, 2008 09:57 am by SilverInfinity |

I'm trying the last one tomorrow with local cantalope and far away grown bananas. Looks great!! AndrewX...... I don't run with the "in-crowd" here or do a lot of PMing people, so I don't know what happened to make you stop posting... but I sure do wish I knew if you were ever coming back. Your pictures and recipes are missed.

Delicious Simple Dishes (cont) Today I had to get rid of the salmon I left in the refigerator before it spoils. Since my mom never cooked salmon, I had no clue where to begin. So I looked up for recipes online. I hated that you need to marinade the salmon for a few hours before you cook it, and there were other ingredients I didn't have. I wanted a simple recipe, so I came up with one on my own. It seems to be a much healthier recipe than most of them out there. Healthy & Spicy Salmon Don't worry about this being the first salmon I made. I know about the nasty flavor and it will be gone. My recipe is also healthy since you don't need marinade, soy sauce, salt or pepper. No need for lemon either. Ingredients - Salmon Fillet (the size of your palm) - 3 separately cooked mushrooms - Salsa Sauce with chilli (La Victoria brand) - Mozzarella cheese strips - Oregano Leaves (important) - Pam's All Natural Non-Stick Cooking Spray Original Instructions 1. Take out the salmon fillet. Wash it thoroughly. Then make sure you wash your hands before touching any food to avoid possible salmonella infection. 2. Spray your microvable dish with Pam's All Natural Non-Stick Cooking Spray Original. Place the salmon, skin facing down, on the dish. Then microwave for 3 minutes on high. 3. After the salmon is finished, cut a pocket straight down through the middle. Make sure you don't cut the fillet into two peices. 4. Cook 3 mushrooms in the mirowave on high for 1 minute. Insert the mushrooms into the pocket of the salmon. 5. Spread Salsa sauce over the salmon. Then sprinkle Oregano Leaves all over the salmon. Oregano Leaves is not only healthy because it cleanses you, but it is crucial to the flavor here. 6. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese strips over the salmon. Mozzarella cheese only, no chedder cheese or any other substitute. You want that hard refined texture and flavor to complement the softness of salmon. I would eat with a spoon, not a fork and knife, because you will want to take huge gulps. Enjoy Total preparation time: Less than 5 minutes. Correction on Healthy & Spicy Salmon: Mushrooms are microwaved on high for 10 seconds. NOT 1 MIN. Can administrators please change 1 min on high for mushrooms to 10 seconds on high for mushrooms, then delete this post? Thanks. Last edited on Sun Aug 17th, 2008 05:28 am by SilverInfinity |

Delicious Simple Dishes (cont) Tonight I just made salad. One thing I learned was smoked turkey and lettuce tastes terrific together. SilverInifinity's Easy Salad No proportions. I did it by heart. Ingredients - Lettuce - Tomatos - Mushrooms - Smoked Turkey - Ranch Cut up as many leaves of the lettuce as you want into bowl. Then slice a tomato into the bowl. You might not use up the entire tomato depending on how much you are serving. Microwave smoked turkey (the ones you put into sandwiches) for 30 seconds. Then microwave mushrooms for 10 seconds. After the mushrooms are done, start cutting the smoked turkey into peices. If you had cut earlier, when it's right out of the microwave, it would be too hot. Now throw in the mushrooms and smoked turkey peices, and add in the Ranch. Enjoy. Last edited on Sun Aug 17th, 2008 05:28 am by SilverInfinity |

Place a few blue berries in the middle. Fold the slice in half, with the blue berries on the crease. Pinch the other end so that blue berries won't fall out. Slightly squash the blueberries in the bread. Enjoy.

I saw on the food channel, Alton Brown show, and they ran a fast snippet saying that vegetables microwaved loose like 27-97 percent of antioxidents just from microwave use, i was shocked that they posted that during the show!

A friend of mine that loves Thai cuisine tells me this is about as good a taramind as you can buy anywhere in the world... and she's tried most everything that's available: http://importfood.com/sads1001.html
