The gnostics probably were doing a lifestyle that sought to limit the generation of energy-containment, a limiting of emotional distress within their dynamic, and so lived a more wholesome and physically more healthy life, so long as they didn't judge themselves or let others judgment of them enter their belief structures. So yes, they sort of lead a less 'dense' existence.
When you try to take any of the "old-story" vernacular or "old-story" explanations of things, or "old-story" thoughtforms and concepts, you get yourself all screwed up. None of that stuff is worth anything.
It is ALL anchored, one way or another, to producing judgment against self; and from that, the production of energy-containment within the body system. It is all rooted in the thoughtform of survival; the prime directive of Thwarting in the "old-story".
