Since I'm new here, I wanted to bring something to all of you as a gift! This is a marvelous yet simple cold remedy that WORKS! It's never failed me or my two kids.
Remember though that you need to use it at the very first sign of a cold - when you feel fatigued and like you're going to come down with something, or within 24 hours of getting a runny nose or stuffed up sinuses.
All you do is add the following to one glass of tomato juice (it can also be V-8, which is a mixed vegetable juice. Make sure it has a strong tomato juice base because you'll want the thick tomato juice to mask the taste of what you're going to put in it -)
Add a couple of shakes of black pepper (from a pepper shaker)
And also add about a pinch or two (literally take a pinch of the spice between your fingers, do that two times) of cayenne pepper. This is also known as red pepper. Red pepper is available as flakes, but don't use that kind. You need the ground up red pepper.
Stir this up in the juice and drink it down.
You might want to repeat this one more time about 12 hours later, but that should be enough to knock out your cold.
This is an old folk remedy from Pennsylvania that I first heard about through my husband's family. It never fails!
Here's to everyone's health in 2008!
