I think addiction programming can also be done via the food.

i.e. McDonalds is programming their clientele via music, ELF, sound and supplements in their food to come back more often.

I was thinking about a friend with a crack cocaine addiction. They would be fine for months and then they would just disappear for days. It always seemed scary to me because it was like someone called them and they left. I just wouldn't know where they were until they came home tired, hungry, sick, having walked for days and not slept, having sold everything they had. And sometimes it would be like a cycle, every 30 days, or every full moon. This person is someone that you would NEVER think had a crack addiction. and I mean NEVER! It was almost like two people. They even referred to those experiences as not being their "real" self.

I always wondered was something activated within them to make them just disappear. I do understand how addiction works and that this is not uncommon. But it always seemed like there was more to it.

Andrea, it does look like there is more to it with your friend.  When one starts looking underneath the surface of things, it's incredible what one can find.

The hard drugs like crack cocaine were not designed by some street scientist, all modern amphetamine based drugs were designed in government laboratories for specific purposes, firstly to target young people and also to weaken the subtle energy and the will of the spirit. It is after much preparation that the recipe finds its way to the streets and kitchens are constructed.
Your friend sounds like a strong minded person to go back and forth, but also a specifically programmed person. It only takes a thought or a trigger to relapse but eventually this type of drug will make the ‘two personalities’ become one, they will either become fully addicted or give it away.
These types of drugs make people paranoid, anti social, aggressive and irrational and that is the purpose, to keep the black money market booming, the law enforcers, the court system and also families and parents that constantly worry if their child will say yes just that once, yes to keep disharmony alive!
