Are People Really Stupid Or Is It Something Else?
#11
I had to re-read it again, more slowly. Yeah. It's heart is in the right place, but there is such an air of elitism to it that I don't doubt the author alienates more people than he "converts".
This forecast of economic collapse / relocation to concentration camps / nazism is quite frightening. Though it pays to be vigilant, I prefer to listen to my inspiration rather than my fear. Even Master Yoda could not predict the future.
Hmm. It is the author envisioning concentration camps. It is the author thinking of humans as "cattle". I thoroughly reject the hook of it, its fear, and though times have been dim, many more are awakened than the article's author has eyes to acknowledge. He has no insight into the wisdom of the farmer he may be driving by, and we are all farmers of some kind, and we all have work to do.

BFBBardo, are you a creative writer by hobby-time? Or are you an author? Your writing style looks like you would do good in fiction writing.

This is a good sign that some people are waking up. Only 41% of Americans believe Saddam was involved in 911 and only 26% of the people approve of the way Bush is ruling this country.

Large Number Still Believe in Saddam-9/11 Link

Newsweek poll: "Even today, more than four years into the war in Iraq, as many as four in ten Americans (41 percent) still believe Saddam Hussein’s regime was directly involved in financing, planning or carrying out the terrorist attacks on 9/11, even though no evidence has surfaced to support a connection. A majority of Americans were similarly unable to pick Saudi Arabia in a multiple-choice question about the country where most of the 9/11 hijackers were born. Just 43 percent got it right -- and a full 20 percent thought most came from Iraq."

Complete survey results are available.

Bush's approval rating plunges to new low

AFP | June 21, 2007

US President George W. Bush's approval rating plunged to a new low of 26 percent, making him the least popular US president since Richard Nixon, a poll released on Thursday found.

The Newsweek magazine poll showed that 26 percent of Americans, just over one in four, approve of the job Bush is doing, marking his lowest level of backing since taking office in January 2001.

"In fact, the only president in the last 35 years to score lower than Bush is Richard Nixon," the report said.

"Nixon's approval rating tumbled to 23 percent in January 1974, seven months before his resignation over the botched Watergate break-in."

The survey found that the public's disillusionment with Bush spread from the Iraq war to domestic issues, with 73 percent of Americans disapproving of the job Bush has done with Iraq and a record-low 23 percent in favor.

Fifty percent said they disapproved of Bush's handling of homeland security and terrorism -- once a strong point for his administration following the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

Sixty percent said they disapproved of his handling of the economy, 61 percent disapproved on health care and 63 percent disapproved on immigration.

The poll was conducted Monday and Tuesday and carries a four-point margin of error.
A separate poll released one week ago by The Wall Street Journal and NBC news showed Bush's approval rate at 29 percent. That figure was a new low for the WSJ/NBC poll, after previously diving to 34 percent in December 2006.

I mentioned a few weeks ago I was talking with a man who migrated here from Iraq, we had a very interesting talk with him, and I asked him straight as an Iraqi does he believe that was Saddam that was captured and executed, he said definitely NO. He believes that he is someone in the Bahamas enjoying his life. To hear the voice of the Iraqi people is different to the news reports and I am sure that most Americans do not appreciate their sons and daughters involved in this war, you do not have to know the truth to see the deception behind this charade. Surveys tell us numbers, but if you go out and talk with people, anyone will see that people are not stupid, but most do not know that it is their right to stand up for what they do believe, and fear involvement.

Richard....As I see it the only thing worse than having President Bush continue is having a President Chenney. That leaves out impeachment and assassination.

Karen, I guess it depends on the area you live in. I live in a Christian area and most of the people I have talked to believe whatever the government tells them. I don’t run into many people who question the things the government tells people. Online it’s a different story be around here I see mostly unaware programmed people. I read one research story that said we’re a nation of zombies because the average person only gets 6 hours of sleep. That could help explain why people seem unaware and programmed.

Alexandrite, they would have to impeach Bush and Cheney at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t yet because Bush has committed more crimes than Nixon ever did and they impeached Nixon.
