Australia Day in Perth

Check out this awesome photo.... this one deserves an award. Fireworks, Lightning, Sunset, a Comet, and the greatest of Aussie icons, the Beach all in one image.

In addition to the obvious features in the photo, look between the two displays of lightning up the sky to see the third, McNaught’s Comet.

The photo was taken just north of Hillary’s Marina, which you can see the harbour wall on the left with fireworks being launched.   (above written by kat)

That is one great photo. I have never been to the west, hope to go there soon. I can say that we had a great view of the comet every night, it was massive and the tail was amazing. Loved it!

I acually live in Perth myself. Too bad i missed out on the event :p

Hilary's Boat Harbour is such a nice spot. And the Beaches of the north Perth area are pretty cool . :-)

Thanks for posting the great pic William - I went to a friend's place on Aus day and we walked up to a local park where we had a good view of the big Skyworks show in Perth.  There was a spectacular lightning show before and during the fireworks, and we could also see a smaller fireworks display in a neighbouring suburb.  It was fantastic to watch, but the wind was so hot we could hardly breathe - it had been an exceptionally hot day. I love watching fireworks!
