Did the U.S. join the E.U.?
#1
I bought some grapes at the grocery last week and noticed something funny with the produce bag.  I'm assuming the picture won't translate so here's what it says:

"Product of U.S.A" and underneath that, "Produit des E.U."

I'm not great at French, but doesn't that translate to "Product of E.U."?

In this context.... E.U  = États-Unis  in French, and it is the same as "United States" in English.

so In french...."Produit des E.U." or "Produit des États-Unis"

In english... "Produit des États-Unis" is "Product of U.S.A"

Than again... they maybe using it in a subtle way so that the subconscious will interpreted it in multiple way....

just like U.N = United Nations

but in French..."UN" = ONE.... so... icon_2thumbs
