Dopplegangland
#1
I normally don't post programming or metaphysical experiences because of security issues. There is one experience I had that was interesting and involves the idea of 'Dopplegangers' so I wanted to mention it because doppleganger themes a appear a lot in mysticism (Dostoyevsky does a lot of work in his fiction involving use of dopplegangers to get metaphysical points across) and the evil cousin of true mysticism: programming and Mind Control. I'm also posting this because it relates to some ideas on Monarch that I was thinking about related to a reply to a separate thread that is still in draft that I didn't want to wait to talk about. I also like the ideas of breaking up large posts into smaller ones - so here we go.

In numerous mental experiences, I've seen dopplegangers of myself - something that looks like me, seems like me, acts like me but is symbolic.

In one particular occurence, while laying in bed, and working out my nightly routine, I saw an image of myself and a mirror image above me, hovering by a few inches. The mouth in both figures was open and a spray of water was shooting from the double hanging above into the mouth of its twin on the bottom. The symbols are the Mouth (I relate it to Bet, or the House symbol, inside/outside), above-ness (sic); one twin - 'above' relates to the mind (as above, so below) symbolically, 'below' relates to the physical life on earth or the body (North and South, in terms of Mind, are just symbols like left/right|East/West), the sentient self actually working in the mundane world, the act of laying itself is a symbol as is the bed.

To be clear, I DON'T see this as a programming dream but an Oversoul deprogramming one, with the doppleganger representing one way of seeing the Oversoul side of myself and the water representing a flush or cleaning, Oversoul -> Self. I'm still not sure what conclusion to draw from it conclusively, though, or if there is a single, final, conclusion. (I don't share the supposition that there is always a single, master overriding theme. I tend to believe in concurrent streams of meaning that working like an intertwined thread that solidies into a single thread ultimately like a synthesis.)

Dopplegangers appear a lot in mysticism and programming so I thought I'd post one of my experiences here. Hope someone finds it useful.

The Doppelganger can also symbolise your Alter Ego and in Jungian Psychoanalysis, the idea of the Darkside, that within our Subconscious Minds that needs addressing.

It reminded me of chapter 69 written by Crowley in the Book of Lies. I would have interpreted it as the 'higher you ' cleaning 'you'. In the Kahuna literature they talk about the higher energy (mana) that the higher self lets 'rain' down
on the self.

Here is the Crowley chapter with the according comment:

                                  69

            {Kappa-Epsilon-Phi-Alpha-Lambda-Eta Xi-Theta}

THE WAY TO SUCCEED-AND THE WAY TO
                              SUCK EGGS!

    This is the Holy Hexagram.
Plunge from the height, O God, and interlock with
      Man!
Plunge from the height, O Man, and interlock with
      Beast!
    The Red Triangle is the descending tongue of grace;
the Blue Triangle is the ascending tongue of
      prayer
This Interchange, the Double Gift of Tongues, the
      Word of Double Power-ABRAHADABRA!-is
the sign of the GREAT WORK, for the GREAT
WORK is accomplished in Silence.  And behold is
not that Word equal to Cheth, that is Cancer.
      whose Sigil is {Cancer}?
This Work also eats up itself, accomplishes its own
end, nourishes the worker, leaves no seed, is per-
      fect in itself.
    Little children, love one another!

                                [148]
                       COMMENTARY ({Xi-Theta})

The key to the understanding of this chapter is given
in the number and the title, the former being intelligible
to all nations who employ Arabic figures, the latter
only to experts in deciphering English puns.
The chapter alludes to Levi's drawing of the Hexa-
gram, and is a criticism of, or improvement upon, it.
In the ordinary Hexagram, the Hexagram of nature,
the red triangle is upwards, like fire, and the blue
triangle downwards, like water.  In the magical hexa-
gram this is revered; the descending red triangle is
that of Horus, a sign specially revealed by him per-
sonally, at the Equinox of the Gods.  (It is the flame
desending upon the altar, and licking up the burnt
offering.)  The blue triangle represents the aspiration,
since blue is the colour of devotion, and the triangle,
kinetically considered, is the symbol of directed force.
In the first three paragraphs this formation of the
hexagram is explained; it is a symbol of the mutual
separation of the Holy Guardian Angel and his client.
In the interlocking is indicated the completion of the
    work.
Paragraph 4 explains in slightly different language
what we have said above, and the scriptural image of
    tongues is introduced.
In paragraph 5 the symbolism of tongues is further
developed.  Abrahadabra is our primal example of an
interlocked word.  We assume that the reader has
thoroughly studied that word in Liber D., etc.  The
sigil of Cancer links up this symbolism with the number
    of the chapter.
The remaining paragraphs continue the Gallic
    symbolism.[/color]

Thanks, Kris. This is consistent with my interpretation as well as I noted. Thanks for supporting it from another point of view.

I see images and symbols all the time naturally and keep a detailed journal. This was actually one of the more interesting ones.

Do any other people see their dopplegangers in mental pictures and dreams?

(I have the Max Freedom Long books as well and they came highly recommended by a friend. My wife bought them for me a couple of years ago but haven't had time to read them. I think I will revisit them based on a few of your recent posts. The books I have are "The Secret Science Behind Miracles" and the 'work' one. Which one do you most recommend?)

If it is the 'The Secret Science at Work', it will give you the fastest overview on these concepts. But I like the 'Miracles' book, because it shows an example of a person that did not use any magic system and had just a good contact to his higher self. Just note that give Max's viewpoint at that time. It becomes interesting, when you  compare the  'Work' book to the Scientology/Dianetics stuff of the late 40s. I would say the chapters on the 3 selves, prayer and mana give the fastest overview so that you can draw comparisons to other systems and, most important, your own experiences.
