Over the years, as with many occult systems, I've noticed similarities always popping up between the ones I've looked into. One that has always intrigued me but which has remained elusive in meaning in the recurrence of the numbers 10 and 12, paired together.
Some (admittedly simplified) examples off the top of my head:
Swerdlow in BBTB: "there are 12 types of energies that pass through the 10 aspects of God-Mind"
Western astrology has 12 signs and 10 planets
Chinese astrology / occult has 10 heavenly stems and 12 earthly stems (influencing the famous 12 year cycle amongst other things)
Kabbalah has 10 sephiroth, or aspects of God, joined by 22 paths (10 + 12), and the tarot is also tied closely in with the same 10 + 22 (10 trump cards and 22 suit cards), both systems also being linked with the 12 and 10 of astrology.
The 10 sephiroth of Kabbalah is the closest I've seen to explaining what the ten aspects of God could mean, but I'm not sure if/how the rest tie up. You may be able to think of more examples, or know more about the subjects, but I've not seen much explanation as to why these two numbers keep popping up together.
Any thoughts?

Well... they are powerful numbers... I mean 10 from my understanding is 1 = god, and 0 = space, and 10 means god in space.... 12... 2 or duality of spiritual and physical and 10 again god in space, so 12 is also another powerful number, but then again so are most numbers... the elusive 144 is quite awesome number... but i've too noticed this, good on you for bringing it up :D

You are looking for real interesting knowledge, I see;
12: Jesus and his 12 disciples; King Arthur and his 12 knights around the round table, the 12 tasks of Hercules; 12 hours around the clock; the 12 races in ancient Israel.
Jesus started his study at age 12.
12 = Perfection in line with God; which is centered in the dot: 13.
12 = 1 + 2 = 3 = perfection
12 = 10 + 2 = God + Diabolo = All perfect
Look at number 30; Jesus started his trip at age 30, Jesus was sold for 30 silver coins by Judas, 30 = 3 * 10 (perfection * God); there is a whole story behind it.
Also, many stories can be told with numbers 33, 36, 40,42, 49, 50,52, 60, 70,72 ,90, 100, 400, 144, 666, 144.000 etc. etc.
Rodrigo gave you some examples about 10 and 12.

What the hell am I talking about?? Tarot has 22 trump cards and 56 court cards, not 10 & 22...
Still closely related however, with the 22 cards relating to the 22 Hebrew letters & the 22 paths on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, also each card generally being assigned one of the 10 + 12 planets & signs of astrology.
Thanks for the extra info guys, but what did Swerdlow mean by 10 aspects & 12 energies? The Kabbalah's 10 sephiroth are supposed to reflect 10 aspects/names of God but beyond that I have not come across anything specific about this

Also, 12 races combined with the reptilian = 13 to genetically create human/reptilian hybrids on Earth.

Rob,
How wonderful that you have so many knowledgeable replies on this thread, the numbers that stand out in ones life is always another piece of the puzzle to the journey.
I am sure that the more you look for meaning in these particular numbers, the more you will find.
I see these numbers as 10 ââ¬â 1 meaning self (creativity and confidence) and 0 is the balance of all that is above and below, there is a post on zero somewhere, and 12 being again 1 self, 2 meaning duality (cooperation and balance) and adding them to get 3 reflects expression and sensitivity.
Do you see these numbers in everyday life?

Wow yes I do love seeing different perspectives & yours is another one I hadn't thought of! No I don't tend to see the numbers in everyday life, I just noticed a running theme in occult disciplines & thought there must be a connection that revealed a deeper meaning.

Maybe that is a sign rob that you should take notice of particular numbers that come up more often than others, its like how some people always see double digits on the clock etc. numbers contain vibration, vibration contains frequency, frequency contains awarenessââ¬Â¦
