IMO... This event was probably one of many attempts to try get Americans to give up their guns. However as Astrojewels said they aren't so much concerned about the guns any longer.I have been on the receiving end of their technology that would have you drop a gun and/or not be able to use it. What they want is people to be fearful and in panic mode. So when they make a move to take the guns the people get fearful ,this triggers all sorts of stuff and events,and gives reason to take even further action than gun control.

They  want people to be in fear mode at all times. Humans are easier to control while in fear mode.
