Dear Lipstick Mystic,
When I had just turned 39-40, I stupidly got a butterfly tattoo on my right shoulder, and an open winged butterfly tattoo on my lower back. Then I got a naval piercing as well.
Whatever the case, I hadnt realized 'til I read your site how much damage this has caused my etheric body. At one time I would laugh at that, but my beliefs have grown on this since having a beautiful Reiki massage done on me last year. I found that just because some energy is invisible doesnt mean it doesn't exist.
Well, I was wondering if you had some suggestions that I might do to help me against the damage I have created against my Etheric body. I have learned to accept my tattoos and was told to put my hands over them in love--as any negative thoughts I have regarding them may actually create chaos in the skin cells over them.
I am not wearing any naval ring in my naval piercing as I used to, but often will gently moisturize my tatoos with some natural moisturizer (like coconut oil, or almond oil)..
I am open to any suggestions in helping heal the Etheric damage.

Thanks for your letter. You raise some excellent points. Many readers have written to me with similar questions after I posted my earlier article some time back, Tatoos and Piercings Damage the Etheric Body. So it's time for me to provide some solutions!
My Black Dragon Tattoo from a Past Life in Japan
Let's see if I can briefly summarize some of the things you can do....first off, please know that I, too, stumbled upon the awareness about tattoos by accident. Fortunately, I didn't yet have any tattoos in THIS lifetime, but interestingly enough, there were some issues that arose for me during a healing session, and in the course of the healing work, it was shown to me holographically (like a 3 -D image) that I had a black dragon tattoo I had received in a past life in Japan when I was part of a very secret, very evil warrior clan. We were kind of like samurais gone to the dark side.
When this tattoo was done to me, I received it along with various invocations, and I took vows and pledges of allegiance both to the brotherhood I was involved with and their associated black dragon entity, whom they saw as a protector but is really bad news! (There are many wonderful dragons you can communicate with in the etheric, but black dragons are very negative and aligned with evil forces.)
Tattoos and Black Magic Rituals
So tattoos are MUCH worse if performed in a ritualistic way. Then you have stuff like demons, spells, vows and spiritual contracts, elementals, blood oaths, and other gunk sitting in there. In my case, removing that stuff was a key piece of the work. So the healing work first involved removing all of that psychic debris that had accumulated before we could even get to healing the etheric body.
Some tattoo artists are into low level witchcraft, too. A lot of the tattoo artists I've met were dabblers in the dark arts (as opposed to working with positive or "white" magic.") So there can be problems when you've received a tattoo from someone who is plugged into negative entities, because some of their residue can end up associated with your tattoo. On the positive side, if a tattoo artist is invoking positive energies and is in harmony with the tattoo recipient's energy, the ritualistic side of the tattooing won't be so bad. But you'll still have a rip or hole in the etheric body to deal with even if somebody nice gave you a really pretty tattoo.
How to Heal the Aura From a Tattoo or Piercing
So, first off, I'd say start working on focusing on the following:
1) Invoke (or receive healing from someone whose healing energies resonate with you) to close up the hole in your auric field - because there will be a hole in your energy body at the site of each tattoo or piercing. You can use various tools from prayer to energizing with a color like electric violet (electric violet is very powerful for sealing up auric holes and expelling negative critters,) to energy work like Reiki.
(Note: I'm not someone who is compatible with Reiki, myself, I've had too many bad experiences with the associated symbols and bad practitioners. That's why I have some negative articles about this on my site, to show people the darker side of Reiki.)
But trust your own guidance about how to close up those holes. You'll know how to do it if you take some time to tune in about it.
2) Invoke spiritual help to "stand guard" to keep the hole from reopening. Think of this as "applying stitches" or "putting on the bandage." You need a little extra help keeping the hole closed while your etheric body heals. Your etheric body will gradually be healing over the next months, and your spiritual "posse" can keep the wounded area clear.
3) Also invoke or set the intention that you permanently expel all negative entities, spells, demons, elementals, ET implants, and other negative energies that may have been associated with the tattoo -- because even if these things were only active at a subconscious level in the tattoo artist, you'll still need to clear them. Who knows what he or she was plugged into? It's best to be safe.
I've found that tattoo sites on the body are often places where implants later turn up on a person's body, so you should set the intention to have any negative ET implants expelled, too. You'll perceive some dark, cloudy stuff lifting off the tattoo (or piercing area) and clearing off. Set the intention that all of that stuff be taken off to the Light and permanently removed from your energy field and your sphere of influence (your environment and all you connect to.)
A lot of stuff cleared out of my life in regards to my notion of "tribe" after the black dragon tattoo imprint was cleared from my field. I had had a tendency to attract people who had dark sorcery stuff going on before this because of those old energies from that past life. After this healing work to remove the etheric effects of that black dragon tattoo, these people - disappeared! And suddenly, I was surrounded by fluffy bunny people. So my "tribe" totally shifted around.
So you may have certain changes you've gone through as a person that weren't very positive in the years since you had the tattoo or piercing, and you can reverse these through soul retrieval and the other healing work I talk about here.
Expect an integration period of several months as things shift around post-healing session.
Michael Harner, Sandra Ingerman, and Soul Retrieval
Soul retrieval can be done by a shamanic practitioner. Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman of Shamanism.org (they both have books out, too) have trained thousands of practitioners across the world in these techniques. And they honor the "old" ways of the indigenous peoples who first worked with these techniques, so their techniques are in integrity.
You can also work with a Native American or Celtic (Irish) shaman who is skilled at soul retrieval. And if you can find an African shaman in this country, their work is great, too. Their styles and methods of work may vary, but usually the person will drum for you and take a shamanic astral journey to retrieve your missing soul parts. Then they will "blow" them back into you.You can also invoke and do this for yourself with the help of your angels, power animals, and spiritual guides. Or invoke to have them do it for you.
When soul retrieval is successful, you'll feel energy flooding back into you, energy you didn't even realize was lost. Some of it will be very localized - to the tattoo or pierced area of your body. But you will often realize that there has been a low level pranic "leak" in your entire being that may have contributed to things like depression, fatigue, or illness over the time since you received the tattoo or the piercing. So soul retrieval allows you to reclaim all the vital energies that have been lost.

I never took any medicine or sought medical treatment, either. And I don't get sick anymore, either. I haven't had a cold in four or five years since I learned to keep scanning my auric field for holes and cracks. If you keep the holes plugged up with positive prana, nothing can attach to you or make you sick. It's really amazing!
So you see, nothing I write about in regards to these matters is "theory." I've applied it in my own life, worked with hundreds of others and seen them healed through these techniques, too, and it's been pretty amazing. I don't do healing work now except in rare occasions (I mostly work on the land instead of people these days; there's lots of work to do!) but I do actively try to get the word out about how different modalities can be extremely powerful and helpful.
