Is Myth Of Jesus Christ Copy Of Early Legends?
#1
Author Drago Plečko
Translation Karmen Horvat

In recent years, authors have been appearing on the world scene who are trying to prove that Jesus Christ was not an actual historic figure, but that his life story was constructed out of a line of information on earlier deities from many world religions. This latest conspiracy theory probably has multi-layered motives, from political ones who should disturb the Western world, to the sensationalistic ones, which strive towards elevating modern-day myths to the level of a point of view.

Arguments have been offered, which are highly intriguiging, above all, because they can serve in the opposite way than the one desired by those who have constructed them. They can become the foundation of proving the mission of Jesus Christ as to being authentic and his figure as something that was perhaps foreseen by many civilisations, at times even subconsciously.

Those who speak of the greatest historic set-up state that out of all historians of that period, none mentioned Jesus Christ as a person who really existed, and they say, this is practically impossible when such a figure is in question. The only person recognised as someone who actually did record Jesus, one of many Josephs in his time, is accused of falsifying records. The main suspect of the greatest conspiracy of all time is certain Lucius Calpurnius Piso, who, according to them, created non-existent characters of the New Testament. He was married to Herod`s great granddaughter and produced the `Ur Marcus` somewhere in 60 AC0, a concept that was a harbinger of the Gospel of Mark. They say he was succeeded by son Arius in falsifying the history of Christianity.

The motives are not clear. Intrigues and hatred of the Piso family towards Julies Caesar are mentioned, along with their exceptional talent for fabricating history. Some say Arius also wrote the Gospel of Matthew and crowned his career with Revelation, which he finished in emperor Hadrian`s time. One more thing is unclear: did he use ancient myths of Egypt or astrological theories to which certain dates from the Bible point to?

In the time of poor communications and low literacy, it is hard to believe that the myth of Horus, which is considered the most powerful argument in proving that Jesus was just an idea, survived 3,300 years to serve Piso in his construction. And it is utterly impossible for the same Piso to have known numerous myths with similar lightmotive, scattered throughout the globe.

Finally, a large part of these myths were created after his time at distant locations, from Scandinavia to Africa, from Bermuda to Asia. It is clear at first glance already that a much more puzzling phenomenon is at stake than sheer fabrication, and the sense is intensified with each new piece of information that links Jesus Christ with other mythological characters.

Raising the dead               Horus raised his father Osiris       Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead

The comparison of locations where resurrections took place in highly interesting. The rituals dedicated to death, funeral and resurrection of Horus took place in the Egyptian city on Anu. Some claim that the Hebrews added the name of this city to the word for `house` - bethanu, i.e. Bethany.

The mysterious word play can be seen through the possible origin of Lazarus` name. The second name of Jorus`s father Osiris, resurrected, was Asar. The Hebrews first turned it to El-Asara, and Elasarusa in the end. It is hard to believe this is not the same name closely liked with the name Lazarus. An important `sermon on the mount` is mentioned with Horus, while `sermon on the mountain` is mentioned with Jesus. Both Horus and Jesus were crucified and both died in the company of two thieves. They were buried in tombs and resurrected three days later! Resurrections in both cases were announced by women.

Both were said to rule a thousand years. The title both had was the Saviour of humanity, and both were immaculately conceived. Horus is called Krst , or `the anointed one` while Jesus is called Christ the anointed. They both share a line of famous terms like `the Good Shepherd`, `Lamb of God`, `Word made Flesh`, `Son of God`, `the fisher` and `Word`, while they are also linked by some other symbols like fish, wine grape and bees. Carefully studying doctrines, great coincidence is evident in used formulations and basic ideas. This is especially expressed when they speak of themselves in the first person.

The reaction of Christians arises, who claim that none of the above is true! Thus, they say that Isis was not called Isis-Meri, but just Isis, that she did not immaculately conceive, but a mythological plot is depicted in great detail and Horus was born at the end of the Egyptian month of Khoiak, which might be around November 15, not December 25. Horus, furthermore, was not born in a cave, but a swamp; the story of the `three wise men` was inspired by the astronomical and astrological knowledge, while the Egyptian name Seb cannot be linked with the Hebrew Joseph. Horus was never crucified, or baptised in a river, while his name Krst does not mean `the anointed one` in Egyptian, but `burial`. This was never a title. The records allegedly mention 16, and not 12 disciples, while the names El-Asarus or El-Osiris have nothing to do with the name Lazarus.

The plot concerning the stories being identical of the greatest prophet in history, Jesus Christ and Egyptian mythological hero Horus continues.

Thus, the list of mothers of great religious figures which immaculately conceived includes 23 names even: Maya (Buddha`s mother), Athens, Cimalman (Quetzalcoatl`s mother), the Teuton goddess Herta, Hera (mother of Zeus` children), Nutria (mother of Etruscan Sun god), Rohini (mother of Indian Sun god), German Ostara, Chinese Holy Mother Shin-Moo and Krishna`s mother Devaki.

According to certain sources, the father of Taoism, Lao Tse, Lao Tsu, Lao Tze or Lao Zi was born to a virgin mother and the story of historic Buddha Gautama is even more dramatic. He was also born under unusual circumstances, to a virgin mother, with the announcement of stars and gifts from wise men who recognised a future prophet in him. Supposedly, this took place on December 25. At the age of 12, he too displayed supernatural wisdom and he successfully resisted the temptation which tested him during starvation. The demonic image which aggravates him in the final perception is embodied in the shape or Mara. Although the Buddhist doctrine is significantly different from the Christian one when it comes to important details, conspiracy theory fans try to prove that there is coincidence in dates and events.

December 25 is manipulated a lot, often, it is stressed that Hercules or Greek god Atis, were born on that day. Atis was born to a virgin mother Nana, was crucified and resurrected three days later. Adonis and Hermes, son of virgin Maia were born on that day, while gods Dionysus and Bacchus share the same mythology. Bacchus was crucified around 200 BC. Prometheus was also born on December 25, while legend states that he was a god who became a man to salvage mankind; he was crucified, suffered and resurrected three days after his death. Viking god Odina, who is placed in today`s Swedish city of Uppsala, fits in this story as well, according to many details.

If we head to the East a bit, we will fin Nimrod, who was supposedly born on the same date and symbols of olive branch and fish are mentioned with his line. Many point out that Sun god Mithra was born on the same day as Jesus,  but 600 years before. It is believes that this Roman god also resurrected and interestingly enough, the book dedicated to the cult of Mithra was called Helio Biblija. Head of Mithraism headed his parish from today`s Vatican hill and he was called the Pope.

They tried to connect Indian deity Krishna with Christ. There was talk of a certain type of proto-religion, an earliest religion from which all later spiritual schools and theologies were created. It was pointed out that there is similarity between the names Krishna and Christ, while in some Indo-European languages, `kri` means `blood`. Still, this attempt does not seem too successful, because it is believed that Krishna was born on the day known as Janmashtami in India, which is July 18 or 21. From the initial deity, a while line of religious groupations occurred, whose understandings of the supernatural are impossible to link with the Christian dogma.

Everything points to the fact that the history of mankind is a real Rashomon of various versions, which was especially reflected on ideas of shapes in which the Creator is manifested on our planet.

As a young man, C.G. Jung worked at the Zurich Buergholzli mental hospital. One day, he noticed a schizophrenic patient staring at the Sun. He asked him what he saw, and the patient replied that `a giant penis was swinging on the Sun, creating wind on Earth`. It is only later that night when he found that a myth of Australian Aborigines claimed the same thing, reading a book, that he thought of the idea of archetypes, basic contents of the deepest layers of consciousness, which are common to all people, regardless of them being in contact or not. Usually, we find such archetypes in mythologies of various nations. In other words, coincidences which are in question here can only be a sign that the same pattern is repeated in the collective consciousness of people, in all times and in all places. There is a difference: some manifestations of this cosmic intelligence are more powerfully reflected on the history of mankind. It is clear in this case that this is the person of Jesus Christ who is etched deep in the spirituality and history of the Western world.

Another interpretation is that all incredibly similar events and births of prophets who came before Jesus were just announcements of the arrival of the greatest who fulfils the promise given to Man by God.

Finally, we have the most imaginative version, according to which the reincarnation process is in question, through a line of embodiments, every time more perfected supernatural intelligence, which not only lets us know that it has previously been here, but promises to return.

Reiterating the familiar pattern is surely no coincidence, whether it be reincarnation, the announcement of an arrival or an archetype which appears in the consciousness of all the world`s  peoples and cultures. It is not probably that a historic set-up is in question, i.e. copying myths, because the time difference between them is at times several thousands of years and the geographical distance in the periods of their creation was a much more significant factor than it is today.

It is an unquestionable fact that no intellectual analysis or historic argumentation can help us attain the truth when it comes to the choice of religion. It is only possible to do so with experience, which comes from inner insight. It cannot be realised, it can only be sensed.
