Israel and ISIL Tie the Knot
#1
TEHRAN (FNA)- Israel has decided to publicly back ISIL in Iraq and Syria. Not that we didn’t know it – kind of!

Tel Aviv has shown footage of its commandos “risking their lives” to rescue wounded ISIL militants from Syrian warzone. Tel Aviv says this is happening almost every night and that they have “saved” more than 2,000 of their “sworn enemies” since 2013.

Israel claims the not-so-secret operation is purely humanitarian even though we all know it only has strategic reasons. The usurper regime has in fact struck a deadly 'deal with the devil' – offering support to the multi-national terrorist group which is fighting the Syrian government in the hope of containing its arch enemies Hezbollah and Iran.

It is unclear how the two “enemies” arrange the rescue. All we know is that word reaches Israeli forces that casualties have been dumped at the border, intelligence establishes that it is not a trap, and the commandos are sent in.

Israel claims this operation is part of its programme of humanitarianism, which is absurd. The status quo makes sense for both sides. The foreign militants are stretched almost to breaking-point in a bitter struggle against Assad, and Israel, which is coping with the global backlash of Palestinian uprising, wants to avoid further regional isolation by appeasing the regional despots.

Israel is pursuing some hard-headed geopolitical goals too. Above all, it wants to prevent Hezbollah and Syria from gaining control on the other side of the border. The foreign-backed terrorists are fighting the Russian-led alliance of Iran, Syria and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, so for now ISIL shares the same objectives as Israel. That's why we are seeing such cooperation between the two parties who should be enemies.

Nevertheless, no medical support has ever been provided to any fighters from the Russian-Iranian-Syrian-Hezbollah alliance. From an Israeli viewpoint, it's a case of ‘my enemy's enemy is my friend.’ So the main aim has to be to eliminate the new counter-ISIL alliance – and whoever takes on Hezbollah is a necessary ally, even if they are condemned by the international community.

What’s more, Israel has gone one step further and actually armed and equipped these foreign militants, as it risks no fierce backlash, both from the Arab world and in Israel. As we speak, no one has ever claimed that the supplied weapons have ever been turned against the Israelis. It’s all about fulfilling mutual strategic objectives and more.

In a way, Benjamin Netanyahu and “Caliph Ibrahim” of ISIL have finally decided to tie the knot and establish a strategic alliance. It’s an “arranged marriage” made in hell, and no, these terrorist groups are not strange bedfellows: They are only shifting sentiment and tactic.

With Israel and ISIL now a couple, and the old version of “moderate” rebels out of the picture, the War Party is seeking to achieve the same goal by a different route, using the United Club of ISIL as a new pretext to get American military forces into Syria, where “together” with Israel and ISIL they will become the spearhead of the campaign to oust the elected government and install a pro-US stooge regime in Damascus - even if that takes an arranged marriage to distract attention from the bigger imperial objective: Destabilization of the Middle East.
