Language Of The Birds
#1
Language of the birds

A language of the birds, a mystical, perfect or divine language, or a mythical or magical language used by birds to communicate with the initiated , is postulated in mythology, medieval literature and occultism. From the Renaissance, it was the inspiration for some magical a priori languages, in particular musical languages. Whistled languages based or constructed on or articulated natural languages used in some cultures are sometimes also referred to, and compared with, the language of the birds.

Birds played an important role in Indo-European religion, used for divination by augurs, and according to a suggestion by Walter Burkert, these customs may have their roots in the Paleolithic when during the Ice Age, early humans used to look for carrion by observing birds.

According to Apollonius Rhodius, the figurehead of Jason's ship, the Argo, was built of oak from the sacred grove at Dodona and could speak the language of birds. The language of birds in Greek mythology may be attained by magical means.

Democritus, Anaximander, Apollonius of Tyana, Tiresias, Melampus and Aesopus were all said to have understood the birds. The concept is also known from many folk tales (including Welsh, Russian, German, Estonian, Greek), where usually the protagonist is granted the gift of understanding the language of the birds either by some magical transformation, or as a reward for some good deed by the king of birds. The birds then inform or warn the hero about some danger or hidden treasure. In Celtic mythology, birds usually represent prophetic knowledge or bloodshed (especially crows). Morrigan adopted the shape of a bird to warn the Brown Bull. Echoing stories of the Edda and the Mabinogion, Richard Wagner's Siegfried understands the birds after he tasted Fafner's blood.

In Sufism, the language of birds is a mystical language of angels. The Conference of the Birds (mantiq at-tair) is a mystical poem of 4647 verses by the 12th century Persian poet Farid ud-Din Attar [1].

Francis of Assisi is said to have preached to the birds.
In medieval France, the language of the birds (la langue des oiseaux) was a secret language of the Troubadours, connected with the Tarot, allegedly based on puns and symbolism drawn from homophony, e. g. an inn called au lion d'or "the Golden Lion" is allegedly "code" for au lit on dort "in the bed one sleeps" [2] (note that this particular pun cannot be medieval, since final t was pronounced until Middle French, c.f. e.g. the 14th century loanword bonnet).

In the Talmud (Louis Ginzberg, Legends of the Bible, 1909), Solomon's proverbial wisdom was due to his being granted understanding of the language of birds by God. In Kabbalah, Renaissance magic, and alchemy, the language of the birds was considered a secret and perfect language and the key to perfect knowledge, sometimes also called the langue verte, or green language (Jean Julien Fulcanelli, Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa de occulta philosophia).

Compare also the rather comical and satirical Birds of Aristophanes and Parliament of Fowls by Chaucer.

"The language of the birds" (Die Sprache der Vögel) is a 1991 German movie. Jean Sibelius composed a wedding march titled "The language of the birds" in 1911.
Recent research into bird song has revealed a certain amount of combinatorial phonology, an aspect shared with human languages.

Druidic University MEGALITHIIC POWER PLANTS:

Druidic University:

Long before there was a Rome or Eternal City there was a Druidic University near Rennes-le-Chateau. Just as we saw Oxford University was built at the same location the Pheryllts (Druidic Alchemists like the Cabiri discussed by Lewis Spence) had a university you will find many locations sacred to the Kelts are usurped by Rome/Bruttii. Chartrés is one of the most intriguing of these sites. Rome made it a custom to build on the old cultures roads and churches or other sacred sites starting with Constantine and Heliopolis. I highly recommend Fulcanelli's Les Mysteres des Cathedrales if you can find it and if you are able to intuit code. Here is a little wisdom from a man who mentions Fulcanelli. The language of the region Saunière grew up in is in fact 'of Occamy' or Alchemy. It is Langue D'Oc (camy) or Languedoc. In fact the whole region is sometimes called by this name. When he mentions the Language of the Birds he is addressing the Bardic Troubadours of the Hibernian system. It is BRD and my last name.

Vincent Bridges is on the right track as he knows the Green Languages and the Language of the Birds which was originally BRD in vowel less script and symbols that became language or alphabets. Thomas Carlyle and his Cant is there too. Here is what Mr. Bridges says which ties Jesus into the forum of adept Hibernians or Gaedhils.

"It was also the "green language" of the Freemasons ('All the Initiates expressed themselves in cant,' Fulcanelli reminds us) who built the art gothique of the cathedrals. Ultimately the "art cot," or the "art of light," is derived from the Language of the Birds, which seems to be a sort of Ur-language taught by both Jesus and the ancients. It is also mentioned in the Sufi text, entitled "The Conference of the Birds," by Attar the Chemist. In de Tassey's French translation of this work, which Fulcanelli references, the "conference" of the title is translated as "language." De Tassey goes on to explain the complex linguistic metaphor beneath the simple fable. Fulcanelli uses the same method to decode the alchemical meaning of the cathedrals." (3)

The Sufi were allied with the Cathars and those Sufis who escaped the Crusade which the 'Hounds of hell' perpetrated upon them went to join the Bogomils in the Balkans where problems still continue and a Library/Museum was recently targeted by the US bombers. This library held their sacred books.

Thanks for this great thread Sariel.Do you think it was an Avian Race who introduced the Language Of The Birds to Earth? If these Avians existed back then in history, then i wonder if they are allied to the Krell Council, Andromeda Council or perhaps the Ohalu Council still today.

Another interesting entry! I'd like to add my thanks also.

"Both 'green language' and the 'language of the Birds' refer to the oblique writing styles used by alchemists, magicians, and other mystical initiates to communicate with one another publicly while 'concealing' the information from the hostile or unworthy.

In short, it is a method of symbolic writing which appears opaque or unintelligible unless one has the necessary understanding of its symbolism to interpret it.
The names given both refer to nature, and refer to a concept similar to that of the logos- a stream of uncorrupted information transmitted mystically through the workings of the natural universe. The "language of the birds" is so called because it was believed that a gifted magician or holy man was able to converse with birds, and therefore learn mystical secrets of God.

The Egyptians credited the origin of their hieroglyphic language to the movements of birds; the Egyptian god of writing and magick is the bird-headed Thoth. This belief may bew rooted in the idea that ancient cuneiform writing originated as bird-tracks."

Whilst,

According to David Ovason

"The original source for the term Green Language was the French Langue Vert. The Vert (Green) is almost certainly an example of arcane aphesis. In French, ouvert means open. The Langue Ouvert was the open language, the tongue of ordinary men. When ouvert became vert by this aphetic change, it meant the opposite of open, i.e. closed; the Langue Vert was therefore the closed language, the occult language, the hidden tongue. ... As a result, in this strange language, a word which may appear quite ordinary is invested with another, deeper meaning comprehensible only to those who anticipate such a hidden meaning.

Whether termed the Green Language or the Language of the Birds, this language has the same feeling for vitality, for primordial and pristine strength, as the Green Man faces of medieval cathedral sculpture, and it is quite possible that the green foliage emerging from these mouths is meant to symbolize the rich "greening" of the opaque language. To select but one example, there may be no doubt that the greenery in the mouth of Botticelli's Chloris in his Primavera, in the Ufizi, is a reference to esoteric speech. The flowers are anemones, roses and centauries, each with their individual arcane symbolism, yet the wonder is that they are issuing from the mouth, as though the goddess was a Green Woman, breathing vegetation."

Do you know if the Avian Hieroglyphic Language or Language Of The Birds is connected to Hyperspace and directly through symbolism to God Mind?It is interesting that perhaps the Auric Fields of the Avians in the Astral Dimension are connected to Higher EM Frequencies directly linked into Hyperspace. I guess i am going down the Etheric Physics path here. Also to find out if an Avian Star Nation visited Earth and the types of birds here were place here by them.I know the Lemurian Reptilians genetically created many species of bird but there are so many. From the Red Breasted Robin to the Chaffinch and the Yellow Wagtail and up to the mighty Albatross and Sea Eagle. Birds are amazing life forms on Earth.

Xan-i, Very interesting about the language.  I think The evil magi Crowley used some of the hiding of words in his incantations and stuff.

On St Patricks day they have the Greening of the Fountains.  And of course cold green beer!   ;)

Ah, the Green Man and the Green Woman. Such wonderful symbols from Atlantis taken by the Druidh to Eire and Alba. Like the Sacred Oake Tree. Oh Mother Earth how beautiful you are with all your Mammals, Birds and Insects and of course all the Flowers and Trees! What is Green Beer William, is it actually a shade of green from the brewing process?Or is it just a commercial term for Saint Patricks Day?

They add green dye coloring to the Beer to make it green just like the Fountains.  There is a reason for all of this connected to St Patricks day here but i was hoping others might know more.  In connection the Xan-i Green theme above.  Avatar and others not living in USA, do you guys have a St Patricks day celebration?  Im so clueless!

We also celebrate St Patrick's Day here in Aus, especially at any Irish style pubs, with beer and music, and lots of people wear green.  Anyone with the slightest claim to Irish heritage walks proud.
