Matt Haas: If you are in the field of science or in the field of the paranormal you have heard the term Laws of Attraction. What are the Laws of Attraction? Many credible philosophers, psychiatrists, writers and scientists have proven that Laws of Attraction have a great deal to do with how our Universe works. There's a couple of versions of this theory out there. One is called What the Bleep do we Know? The other is entitled the Secret. I couldn't believe it myself until I watched it. I thought it was far out there. But when they were comparing it to physics and human emotion, there is definitely a connection. You can almost connect the dots.
What is the Law of Attraction? It doesn't pertain to just one Law. There are many Laws of Attraction. You have to decide what is best for you. The simplest way I can explain it is that its how the Universe works for an individual. You can control almost anything to make the Universe work for you. But you must follow the rules in order for it to work. I know this sounds crazy but there is proof it works. I'll give a few examples.
Watching the documentary I seen a man who was laying in a hospital bed as the doctors told him he would never walk again, never talk again. He was paralyzed. He was a construction worker who had a very bad fall. At first the doctors did not think he could ever recover from such a severe fall. He was in a coma for 6 months. He had damage to his spine. There was nothing they could do for him. However, as he woke up from his coma he realized his dilemma. He had a wife and kids to care for. He laid in bed and imagined himself over and over that he was going to walk again. One day out of the blue, he was up standing and walking. He nearly came to a 90% recovery a few months later with some physical therapy. Doctors had no explanation for this except calling him ââ¬ÅThe Miracle Manââ¬Â.
This story I thought was amazing. There was a Doctor who was extremely down on bad luck. Everything in his life was in turmoil. He didn't think things were ever going to get better for him as each day had a terrible situation. One day he took a stroll by a river to ponder his thoughts how he can turn his life around. He picked up a rock and put it in his pocket. He went back home and before he went to bed he forgotten that he put these rocks in his pocket. He thought to himself perhaps these rocks will start giving him some better luck. So he laid them out on his dresser. Each day he would get up for work he would take some time to stare at the rocks for a few minutes and collect his thoughts.
Well... before he knew it, things started to turn around for him. His luck got better. Actually his life was never better than before. Now he calls these rocks his lucky rocks. A friend in Africa calls him up one day out of the blue who he hasn't spoken to since college. The doctors friend gave him some very sad news that his son who is no older than 10 years old came down with an illness that had no cure. His friend knowing that he was a doctor asked it there was anything he could do would be greatly appreciated. So the doctor told him, I'll tell you I will do. I am going to send you some lucky rocks. His friend laughed and said ââ¬ÅLucky rocks?ââ¬Â He thought he was joking. But the doctor said yes I will mail them as soon as possible. So the doctor went back to his river where he got his lucky rocks. He knew they had to be special rocks for his friend. He found some special looking rocks and sent them to his friend. He later explained what to do with them to his friend. About a few weeks later his son who was sick started to recover from his illness.
He was up running around and the illness was completely gone. The father couldn't believe it. As a matter of fact he wrote a thank you letter to his doctor friend and told him that the village discovered this and asked for more rocks. Of course the doctor sent more. Months later they now have raised over a quarter of a million dollars selling rocks for the illness going around their village for people who were sick.
Amazing isn't it? Basically, the main part of how this all works is if you put your mind to something with a positive and focused attitude anything can happen. That's what the Law of Attraction is. Positive = Positive, and Negative = Negative. If you are negative, you will attract negative things into your life. If your positive, you will attract positive thing into your life. Its easier said than done. You really have to want it in order for it to work. You have to believe in something. Its a lot like how faith works.
I'll show another example by using something that has happened to me. We've all had struggles in our lives correct? A few years back I had lost my job. I had no money. My debit was climbing so high that I couldn't see the day light. There was fighting at home. Relationships were falling apart. All of this was caused because of my sorrow and negativity. It all stemmed from my own behavior and emotion. One bad thing turned into a string of more bad things and so forth. Nobody was hiring at the time. I honestly didn't think I was going to find a job real soon with the rate things were going. Finally one day, there was an ad in the paper for a school bus driver position. I said to myself, and prayed I really need a job and it didn't become I need a job anymore. It became I wanted a job. I wanted to get myself out of this mess. I changed my attitude because I wanted this. I was focused and determined.
I filed for an application and was immediately given an interview. Mind you... I have filed job applications for 3 straight months and nobody called me for an interview. So I was thrilled beyond belief. They explained how everything works. I had to do a little bit more in order to officially be hired by this bus company. I studied my butt off to get a permit to drive a school bus. I trained really hard to learn how to drive a school bus. Before I knew it, they hired me for the job. I believe it was because of my attitude. My positive attitude and how determined I wanted this.
To me that is the Law of Attraction. Its all about control of your emotion, your feelings, your attitude and being focused. It can be extremely difficult thing to do depending on your situation. Everyone has their own set of circumstances. But the Laws of Attraction will never change. If you know how to embrace it and use it, there is a unlimited universe waiting for you.
If you think I am joking, try it yourself and tell me I am wrong. Tell the thousands of scientists who have proven it they are wrong.
What does the Law of Attraction have to do with the Paranormal? I think it has a lot to do with it! If you go into a Paranormal Investigation with a negative attitude or wrong reason, do you think your going to experience anything Paranormal? In my humbled opinion, I don't think you are.
Skeptics are individuals who instinctively or habitually doubts, questions, or disagrees with assertions or generally accepted conclusions. That is the definition taken from a dictionary on what a skeptic is. Skeptics in the paranormal field are people who have to experience it in order to believe it. They come from a scientific point of view. They prefer facts & quality evidence that cannot be explained for it to become paranormal. I think that is an accurate view on how skeptics investigate the paranormal?
Many skeptics feel offended or insulted by believers who think of the term skeptic as a dirty word or negatively. However, I think that we can all agree that all people in the paranormal field are misusing the terminology. Therefore they mislabel individuals which then causes conflicts and heated debates. If the terminology was re-evaluated and approached properly I believe that it would cut down a lot of the animosity among skeptics and believers. I think the best way and healthy way to be a Paranormal Investigator is to be 50/50 with their approach and methodology.
What I mean by 50/50 is go into an investigation with an open mind yet be real and objective about it. Not all things are paranormal and 9 times out of 10 have a natural cause or logical reason for it. There is a small number of 1% where cases are labeled as being paranormal or haunted.
Now me personally, I like using the term ââ¬Åalternative possibilitiesââ¬Â. Your leaving room for a chance for it to be paranormal and at the same time you might find a scientific explanation for it. But keep in mind you do not work or live at these establishments every day. We only get an opportunity to investigate them at an estimated number of 3 or 4 times. You don't visit on a 24:7 basis. Sometimes my team investigate establishments for a whole year before determining the cause of activity. I think its only fair to the client. We know that these things do not happen on demand and only happen in cycles.
If your a skeptic who doesn't believe in the paranormal I think you are wasting your time and the clients time if you don't believe in it. What is your reason for being in the field if you don't believe in it? If its to help people, that's great. But how do you expect to experience anything paranormal if you don't know what to look for or go into an investigation with the mind set of not believing? That's where I think the Laws of Attraction come in. If you don't have the right approach or attitude, you aren't going to experience anything. Although, is this why believers experience more? Are they creating paranormal activity in their minds with the Laws of Attraction? If I'm a ghost, do you think that I am going to show myself to you if your out to prove I don't exist? Absolutely not. I will show myself to someone who cares about communicating with me. Perhaps spirits are only showing themselves to believers because of their approach and attitude. There are pro's and con's as well as differences on how to be objective and keep things real at the same time.
At this point we know what can be proven, and we know what can't be proven. The paranormal field needs a lot of improving with methodology and terminology. There is no expert in our field since nothing can be proven 100%. Before we can prove to the world that the after-life exists if we ever came across the best evidence in the world that couldn't be disproved at all without a shadow of a doubt, I think the field needs to change internally before we expect the outside to take us seriously.
