Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
#1
I don't know if this is part of mind-control or programming, but Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven can't stop playing in my head sometimes. When it happens I usually see Satanic symbols like the reverse pentagram, a rainbow version pentagram, and Baphomet, in my head.

It makes me want to hum along or knock myself out because it was unlike other songs that stuck in the head.

I rarely listen to his songs. There were a few times I tried to play Stairway to Heaven on a guitar, and that was it. I gave up long ago because chicks don't dig that stuff anymore - 'nuff said?

Hmmm...when I was married to my ex he played Stairway to Heaven on his guitar all the time and I loved it. I always begged him to play it. That is a great song!

I can play S t h.  But I always remember the Waynes World movie so im "Denied"!

However, the main guitar player for Led Zep is a Big Crowley fan.   He even owns some original Crowley "Stuff"....  So that may or may not explain some of your visions of programming with their music........    I can also play the song black dog which ive loved for some reason when I was a little kid playing pinball and chewing on red swizzle sticks.  I waz a pinball wizard........   I can also play ping pong likes its nobodies bizzness!  So alteast I have that going for me!

SI, I went to a Led Zeppelin concert in NYC when I was about 14 years of age with a few friends from my neighborhood in Westchester County, NY.  That would have been around 1970.  I was in an almost constant dissociative state in my teens and yet had some awareness of this state at the same time.  This was true as well when I went to that concert.  We took the train to the city.  My recall of that day is hazy still but one of the things I remember is the light show being very disturbing to me.

Zeppelin over New York City 6th may 1937

The Hindenburg flies over New York City just before it explodes

Where does this remind me to something similar ?

Here's something related to that song you mentioned:
A guy I sorta dated(erm first person I ever *sorta*dated?) and some of his friends loved Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden and all of those bands. Thats something I wouldn't have gotten into if I didn't hang out with them. I think if it weren't for this group, I wouldn't have even bought the Police album either if I didn't hear all their other songs aside from Every Breath You Take(that famous stalker song..lol).

I liked Led Zeppelins "Houses of the Holy" and "Kashmir"(erm..hehe because yeah they used indian music..whoohoo! excuse me for being 1%+ ethnocentric..lol). I also heard the Kashmir remix with that rapper (for the Godzilla movie soundtrack..that movie with Matthew Broderick---Godzilla being the gigantic japanese lizard..)who was once known as Puff Daddy(and now its stupidly reduced to P.Diddy..blah!!lol!).

I heard people criticize that people know Led Zeppelin because of Stairway to Heaven...and that its only played at proms...honestly I didn't even hear it at my own prom(where I went stag..Lol).

I haven't heard those LZ songs I mentioned in a while..

I'll check it out for ya!!

it makes me want to think of Van Halen, Metallica, Dream Theater....what else was out there like LZ? The Doors? The Flaming Lips??(I just heard about them for the first time this year...and got their album). There's soloist Jimi Hendrix...// Aerosmith..Rolling STones..Beatles.........

Stairway to heaven is a classic song and a challenge to those who like to play guitar, it seems to be ‘the song’ that shows you can actually hit a cord. This song has always translated to me – each step of the stairway takes you to your own personal heaven, understanding and accepting life, feeling content with all that you are, because life is often like a big stair case where you go up two steps and come down one, two or three at times, but then you go two steps at a time. Van Halen was my era, big impact for me at that time, along with AC/DC, Metalica and all those rock bands that made you scream out and want it louder! – Mind pattern of not listening I am sure! You are all making me reminisce, but I do not want to think about the fashion back then, no thanks. Great thread all, really enjoying reading it.

Thanks for sharing that Astrojewels!!!
I didn't realize that era contributed to the further set up of the mind pattern for not listening...thats interesting!! :o)

I need to listen to that song..I do like your interpretation of it though!! :o)

So there's ACDC....and then there's Lynrd Skynrd...any other bands out there at the time? They all have interesting songs...but Stairway to Heaven was quite popular...
