Police: Angry Ohio boy, 4, shoots baby sitter

JACKSON, Ohio – Police say an angry 4-year-old Ohio boy grabbed a gun from a closet and shot his baby sitter.

Eighteen-year-old Nathan Beavers was hospitalized Sunday with minor wounds to his arm and side after the shotgun attack. Police say another teen was also injured.

Witnesses told police the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot. Beavers was watching the child at a mobile home in Jackson with several other teenagers and several other children.

Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen says authorities are investigating. The child has not been charged.

This is a weird story, a shot gun is not a gun that you just pick up and fire like a pistol, it can throw you back with the force, how did the 4 yr old do this? The gun would have to be loaded, and the safety off, the only way a 4 yr old could fire such a gun is if he had been trained, which is possible but the 4 yr old would have been injured in firing it if he had no experience. I think that the other teens were playing around with it and not the story given to be the truth.

I thought the story sounded strange too. I have a hard time imaging a 4 year old shooting a shotgun.
