Robins Invading our Yard
#11
Just yesterday, I took my grandfather to the bank and just before he got out of the car, we were staring straight ahead into a huge hedge full of robins eating red berries.  My grandfather said "Look, it's robins".

He went inside to cash his check and I watched the robins -- there must have been 30 of them -- and they would eat a berry, swallow it whole, then eat another berry, swallow it whole.  They looked almost frantic in eating the berries!  Now that I think on this more, I'll bet they knew of the awful frigid temperatures coming this way this week and were trying to stock-up on food to keep them warm.

Or the bank's hedge was a pit stop on wherever they were traveling and they were just hungry.  icon_nixweiss

ARG!  I wish I had my camera with me!!!  Birds are some of my fav subjects.

Richard and DT - on the weather channel they just showed Kalamazoo, MI and all the snow.  They showed a man using a snow blower in what looked like in the middle of a blizzard. It looked really, really.......................... COLD!  *shivers*

Hi Sily,

You saw a flock of robins, too. You are south of me in MD. There's a North American bird count this month. It would be interesting to see the locals of robin numbers in the northeast and midwest when the results are tallied.
