I woke up this morning and saw that Jerusalem was covered with snowââ¬Â¦ and itââ¬â¢s still coming down. Truly a winter wonderland. It reminded me of my many years of living in Northern Ontario in Canada.
The central heating was on, the house was warmââ¬Â¦ the electricity was onââ¬Â¦. the TV was working. All they were talking about on the Israeli news was the snowââ¬Â¦ giving advice to drivers to stay homeââ¬Â¦. not to use private vehicles today..
I looked outside and all the kids from my building were frolicking in the snowââ¬Â¦. for many it was the first time they ever saw it in their lives. NO SCHOOL TODAY!!!! Shouts of JOY!!!!
How niceââ¬Â¦. a country completely devoid of problemsââ¬Â¦. all were solved!
BUT, were they really?
The children in Gaza are not as fortunateââ¬Â¦ they woke up in freezing homes with empty fridgesââ¬Â¦ no running water to even make a cup of teaââ¬Â¦
The streets of Jerusalem are covered with snowââ¬Â¦. that is the biggest problem here at the momentââ¬Â¦.
The streets of Gaza are still covered with human excrement from a backed up sewage system rendered inoperable by the power cutsââ¬Â¦
Funerals have become a ââ¬Ënormalââ¬â¢ sight for the children hereââ¬Â¦ quite a contrastââ¬Â¦
