You're right. He could be alluding Jesus Christ's resurrection after being murdered to his survival of a gunshot. He became stronger just like Jesus Christ.

But in the video, the devil visited him. Whether or not he was implying the Devil offered him to sell his soul to come back famous, you can't judge from the video and his song lyrics. He could be saying something entirely different with the video than the pastor in the clip link was suggesting.

It's all there from beginning to end,though in real life,he seems to be very much religious.I got a kick out of the MTV show he used to have way back.
