Zachary Swerdlow Diabetes
A family searches for a livable solution to their child's diabetes.

Zachary?s parents took great pains to ensure that he and his brother were healthy. They took their job as parents seriously, providing their boys with nutritious foods and making sure they never missed an annual checkup. The boys had never taken antibiotics?or pills of any sort

But when Zachary started to vomit and lose weight, they worried. Zachary?s mother, Janet, was a firm believer in holistic medicine, so it was difficult for her to bring her son to an allopathic doctor. But she did. When sugar was found in Zachary?s urine, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and rushed to the emergency room.

The doctors said he could go into a coma any minute and that he needed to stay in the hospital until his levels normalized. The Swerdlows were shown how to give Zachary insulin injections and told their son would need them for life.

Zachary couldn?t accept this. He told himself that his diabetes wouldn?t be forever. He wasn?t going to let it.

After Zachary left the hospital, he continued with his shots. But he also started on a holistic diet designed to treat his high blood sugar and detoxify his body. He also saw a chiropractor, Alan Maynard, to get ?readjusted.? This helped to lower his insulin levels. As an adjunct treatment, he went to a craniosacral therapist who worked to increase the flow of fluid that protects the spinal cord and brain.

Although these treatments did improve Zachary?s insulin levels, nothing compared to the dramatic results he experienced after swimming in a saltwater pool. After doing so, he realized he didn?t need as much injected insulin. Eventually, he went off the insulin completely. Saltwater swimming boosted his energy and strengthened his body. Before long, he was back to his former health and could enjoy being a kid again.

Zachary is now 14 years-old. According to his parents, he?s doing great. He continues to undergo periodic IV treatments to eliminate stress, and has improved further with each treatment. He does moderate exercise that doesn?t overtax his system?like walking or hiking.
Zachary, like many 14 year-olds, likes video gaming and watching DVDs. He also plays the viola and uses engineering software to create designs for buildings he dreams up.

Zachary?s parents, Stewart and Janet, are thankful that he?s doing so much better. Janet confided that she loves watching Zachary live a ?happy, healthy life?without a label,? something she hopes he?ll be able to continue.

During Zachary?s journey, he began writing a book tentatively titled Diabetes Is a Diabolical Lie. There are hopes that he will finish the book, which would enable him to spread a positive word about his pilgrimage through traditional and alternative treatments for

diabetes.

Craniosacral Therapy

And what about the foil hat? Do I need to use that too?

Good grief, using their kids type 1 as publicity. Thanks for posting this. Jacaranda's posts touch on this subject though it'd take awhile to locate this topic specifically.
