Swimming In Lake Michigan?
#11
Having visited Chicago and St. Joseph and other places along Lake Michigan I can't say I resonate with the energy that pervails there. Perhaps it is that triangle Richard posted about .I don't know.It is scenic but I have learned the hard way that looks can be VERY deceiving. As for saftey in swimming in the lake.......There are numerous articles about the poisoning of the lake available online. Check it out.I leave it for the reader to decide. For me  and my own it won't be happening. My grandmother, who will be 102 in a couple of days, told me that if it kills the vegetation, fish or birds it will kill you.

Hey, thanks for the input.  I just realized there were more replies here!

I ended up not swimming in the lake, probably all for the best.  I grew up in an area with a lot of lakes and people were big into water sports there,  but alot of us were less than enthusiastic about getting into any of that water, hence the question :big grin:.

As a water sign I do love water, but I would rather be in the ocean than anywhere else.  Maybe it is the salt.  I really don't like getting in swimming pools, even.  It was nice being by such a large body of water, but frankly the stress of the horrific emotional interactions of the trip, coupled with the difficulty leaving may have left me with a permanent facial twitch anytime I think about Chicago :paranoid:
