A MAN and a woman will face court today charged with the murder of millionaire businessman Herman Rockefeller, as sordid allegations surfaced linking his death to a network of underground "swingers" clubs.
Mario Schembri, 57, of Wallan, 50km north of Melbourne, and Bernadette Denny, 41, of Hadfield, in the city's north, who were charged with Mr Rockefeller's murder late on Friday night, are reported to have met the businessman through a swingers website - where sexual encounters are advertised.
Mr Rockefeller is reported to have voluntarily visited an address in Hadfield connected to Ms Denny immediately after returning from a business trip to Sydney.
There is speculation that the suburban father, marathon runner and multi-millionaire led a double life.
Police will allege Mr Rockefeller was murdered at that Hadfield home late in the evening on January 21, or early the next morning, after an altercation with the accused pair.
Mr Rockefeller's brother Robert said his family was in shock and pleaded for privacy.
"Our family is devastated by Herman's loss and deeply shocked by the circumstances surrounding his death," he said.
