We have further called for Congress to initiate legislation declaring those who support these organizations as committing an act of treason.

It's euphemistically called Globalism but it could easily be named Satanism or just plain Evil. They are preparing right now and have for some time, preparing us for ultimate slavery and their ascendancy as ultimate rulers of this planet, now and forever. Study the Agenda of the Council of Foreign Relations,(CFR), the Trilateral Commission, or the Bilderberg Group to confirm the plans of globalism and the creation of their institutions: the UN, WHO and WEF to help further their Agenda.
Large segments of the world's population have been duped. If you do not see their Evil you are most-likely plugged into their network of deception. The real action is not Biden vs. Trump, nor Democrat vs. Republican. That is the foreground like a professionally orchestrated wrestling bout. They are kept front and center as distractions. Behind the scenes the globalists have recruited an army of individual traitors many of whom don't realize that they are being played to betray their country, as they are only interested in selfishly benefitting themselves. Dr. Fauci is a perfect example of someone in the thralls of globalism. He has made his pact with Mephistopheles by promoting toxic medicines and vaccines as safe and effective for treating Covid-19 when he knew they were not, and smeared medicines which were extremely safe and effective like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. His actions cost the life's and health of countless individuals. The real War is Globalism vs. Humanity.
It's not Democrat or Republican. Remember Democrats: Biden, Obama, Clinton and Carter were members of exclusive globalist organizations. But so were George Bush Senior and George Bush Junior. They belong to the same club. And as political satirist George Carlin said "You aint in it"
Their policies are to weaken the United States through costly and demoralizing wars and economic policies like sending our industrial and manufacturing might to other countries through agreements like NAFTA, including to perceived enemies. Makes sense? To lower our standard of living and sovereignty through massive accumulation of debt. Makes sense? Because we have a Constitution and Bill of Rights which gives us freedoms. Makes sense? Because they hate our freedom our Constitution and our Bill of Rights because it interferes with their plans for a total world take over. Makes sense? They want to make us a poorer and more dependent country. Makes sense? So we smoothly fit into their regionalized agenda of world control where the Nation state has been eliminated. Makes sense?
Open the Borders to let the Sunshine in. Or to do what intelligence agencies do best, infiltrate, create division and dissension within the ranks. Can People Cope with the Challenges of Life when so Much of their Culture has been destroyed?
Depression, the meaninglessness of life and spiritual deprivation engulfs so many people today, because they no longer have the cultural knowledge gained from familiarity with their classic literature and religion which teaches how to deal with the challenges of life and how to grapple with inner demons. This knowledge has been lost. It has been excised from education as outdated, racist, not inclusive, judgmental, and white.
Hanne Herland reminds us of the importance of culture to survival and a moral life. She gives us hope for our revival by pointing out that Russia is again Christian despite decades of enforced communist atheism, which was also enforced on Americans by liberals and Jews. For example, no prayers in school, no Christian symbols in public places.
Alexander Solzhenitsyn, author of The Gulag Archipelago, was a hero in America as a Soviet dissident until his speech at Harvard University at which he said that “men have forgotten God,” and that this forgetfulness is the explanation for the numerous crises and social and personal maladies of our time.
Instantly, Solzhenitsyn became persona non grata.
If you are a Christian, a real one and not a worshipper of Israel, you can understand what has happened to us in terms of Satan squeezing the good out of Western civilization and replacing it with evil.
When I challenge this thought, I am confronted by the facts that it wasn’t Russia, China, and Iran who on the basis of totally false accusations overthrew the governments in Iraq and Libya and murdered the leaders. It wasn’t Russia, China, and Iran who tried to do the same in Afghanistan and Syria. It is not Russia, China and Iran who are providing the bombs and aircraft and money and diplomatic cover to Israel to exterminate the Palestinians.
It is not the Russians, Chinese, and Iranians who are provoking more war.
It is Washington and its EU Empire.
If you consider the bare-faced facts, it is evil flowing from the Western World that is operating in the world.
Russia, China and Iran think they are confronting governments that have lost their senses. They are relying on the threat of the breakout of a world war to bring the West to its senses.They do not understand that they are confronting evil with whom no negotiations are possible.
This means that the halting, hesitant, insufficient responses of Russia, China, and Iran to evil are too weak to be effective.
The liberals, the left-wing, the Woke are the ones who destroyed the cultural knowledge of the West, thereby depriving the people of the ability to confront evil. For the liberal-left-Woke destroyers of civilization, spiritual evil is incomprehensible. For them the only evils are Trump, “white racism” and “Putin’s aggression.”
In the liberal-left-Woke matrix there are no other evils.
The West no longer rests on a Western culture. It rests on sexual perversion and the promotion by governments, corporations, and universities of transgenderism and critical race theory. Western nations have been replaced with Sodom and Gomorrah and towers of babel. Enemies are necessary to justify the US military/security complex’s massive budget and power. The more enemies the larger the budget and power.
There is not much more hope in American conservatives than there is in the liberal-left-Woke contingent. Conservatives confuse their country with the government. As Albert Jay Nock and Thomas Jefferson clearly explained, the two are entirely different. But it is an important distinction that is over the heads of many conservatives.
Solzhenitsyn told us that when respect for religion, traditional values, family, and religious faith are stripped from a society, society has been disarmed and no protection remains against the triumph of evil. As the liberal-left-Woke contingent has stripped away these protections, evil is now the dominant power in the Western World.
Russia, China and Iran do not confront Western governments capable of reason. They confront unbridled evil.
Putin puzzles why the West is so unreasonable. The answer is that evil is unreasonable. You cannot make a deal with it.

Pride Month 2024: How Did We Get Here?
The deep roots of our current social crisis lie in failed subsidiarity.

As my eyes endure another Pride Month, I’m struck by the scope of a movement that barely two election cycles ago was opposed by the majority of Americans. At least once a year, our entire society is covered in more glitter and rainbows than a 7-year-old girl’s birthday party. Recent pushback notwithstanding, Pride is everywhere—in our stores, our schools, our billboards, our churches, and even our crosswalks. It’s treated as a decidedly settled topic. Opposition to the LGBTQ+ agenda is incredibly unpopular and not tolerated in our institutions.
All of this in less than twenty years (doesn’t anyone remember Obama in 2008?). Christianity didn’t achieve such spread for hundreds of years. Even Islam’s more, er, aggressive evangelization tactics couldn’t achieve such hegemony in a mere twenty years. It forcefully prompts even the most uninterested to wonder: How did we get here?
The simple answer is staring us in the face all this month; LGBTQ+ ideology has spread so far and so fast on the wings of corporate and state investment. Twenty years of movies, television, advertisements, government-sponsored parades, events, recolored infrastructure, and so on have had their intended effect. How did we get here? Simple: government and cultural agendas.
But those of longer memory are left to wonder how those institutions—corporate and state—became so militant. It didn’t used to be this way. The single biggest cultural whip today—Hollywood itself—used to be a conscious promoter of Christian values.
It was called the Hay’s Code, and it controlled every major picture released from 1934 through 1968. Created by a Jesuit priest and enforced by a Catholic layman, the code aimed to prevent films from “lowering the moral standards” of the audience. While there was plenty objectionable in the Hay’s Code (bans on interracial marriage come to mind), for the most part it worked. American media in the 1940s and ’50s still has a reputation for pure optimism and simple virtue, if anything to a fault.
Amazingly, the code wasn’t a government imposition. It was self-censorship from movie studios, brought about by religious activism and even the personal convictions of executives. But neither was it completely devoid of state action, as a variety of cities and states had censorship boards that created economic pressures on studios to clean up their content.
The Hay’s Code is a snapshot of a well-integrated society. The general public, corporate megaliths, government power, and religious tradition all worked together to uphold a coherent public morality—all according to the principle of subsidiarity.
It is this principle of subsidiarity that has failed us today. But not in the way you think. Most Catholics know subsidiarity prohibits higher powers from overriding more local institutions; but few remember that the definition extends in the opposite direction, which is where our culture has primarily failed.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines subsidiarity as such:
a community of a higher order should not interfere in the internal life of a community of a lower order, depriving the latter of its functions, but rather should support it in case of need and help to coordinate its activity with the activities of the rest of society, always with a view to the common good.
Catholics today understand the first part of the definition, as they feel the weight of “higher order” institutions interfering with their daily lives (especially in June). But these higher institutions are only able to interfere with the lower because the higher first failed in the second part of the definition; they failed in their duty to support the lower orders.
Remember again the Hay’s Code. It avoided an unnecessarily high power (say the federal government) coming in and regulating the film industry, instead effectively self-regulating without appeal to an order above that of private business. But it only did so because the higher order (state and local governments) created the conditions for such self-regulation through local censorship boards. The common good of public morality was safeguarded without top-down, heavy-handed state power; but only because bottom-up, small state power moved to support such public morality and the lower-level institutions capable of doing so.
Picture society like a big triangle. Right in the middle is “the public”—their morality, welfare, opinions, and all the other stuff that we might as well dub “the common good.” From this pubic is formed a state as the top of the triangle. And, from the same public, is formed corporate and media entities, in the left corner. Lastly, there is the spiritual pole in the right corner—that is, the religious beliefs and institutions accepted or rejected by that same general public. Confusing?
Well then, consider this hastily constructed visual aid, which I’m sure will be no help at all:

As you see, all four of these realms interconnect. The three corners arise out of the center; but then they, in turn, have an effect on that central public. Individuals and the public at large are formed by economic and cultural expressions; government structure and laws; and spiritual ideas and practices. How people are formed then influences them to recreate those very institutions that continue to form themselves and others—and the entire social body forms a feedback circle (or triangle, as it’s too late now to change my visual aid).
Ideally, this is a virtuous circle reinforcing itself toward greater goods. And with the fixture of the public in the center, it indeed tends that way. Like spokes on a (triangular) wheel, it is very hard for any single entity to get too far removed from the rest. One area might win temporary ascendency, but there are enough interlocking checks and balances to prevent complete domination of any one party.
That is, if society follows the checks and balances.
If there is a weak point in the triangle, it is religion. It depends on the public to adhere to it to have power to check the other arms of society. And without control of the army or the pocketbook, it is in danger without the aid of state or corporate defense. And if it does cease to be a major player (as it indisputably has today), you’re left with another crummy visual aid that’s at least a little less complicated:

There are only three powers at play now, which, off the bat, will give less opportunities for checks and balances. Yet nevertheless, our godless society can still produce a virtuous cycle. Each corner gets checked by the other two, making it still very hard for any one to dominate the rest. Afterall, our own American government functions on a similar model—so it must be alright.
But here’s where the Hay’s Code comes back into play (you forgot, didn’t you). With the invention of modern media, the triangle is no longer three equal powers. The state puts pressure on the public; mass media has a formative force on the population; but the public can’t push back as hard. Especially without a transcendent framework to anchor themselves, the general population is quickly tossed along the waves of corporate and state fancy. The virtuous circle then quickly becomes a vicious one.
The society of the Hay’s Code recognized this unbalance and tried to correct it. But as religion faded, so did its power over corporate schemes; and by the end of the 1950s, mass media was more of a force in the opposite direction, helping to open the floodgates of the ’60s sexual revolution.
And so goes our society today. The loss of religion created a culture in which corporate-state powers dominate public formation. And the loss of religion itself was made possible by the corporate-state powers’ failures to guard and defend religion, as is required by subsidiarity (don’t worry, that’s the end of the triangles).
This sort of reasoning calls to mind debates over integralism. Right-leaning Catholics today argue about religious freedom, pitting Vatican II pluralism against traditionalist confessional states. Anti-liberal voices want an America where Catholicism is the official religion. Mainstream conservative voices just want an America where Catholicism is left alone.
In the gun smoke of such battles, we miss the common ground eroding under our feet—the duties of subsidiarity toward the religious order. Whether states have a duty to acknowledge the particular Catholic religion or not, they must acknowledge religion in general. Even a maximally-pluralistic reading of Vatican II must accept the religious corner of the triangle and the state’s duty to protect and uphold it (see Dignitatis Humanae §6 if you don’t believe me).
Am I advocating for the Hay’s Code? No. Am I advocating for media censorship? Given our current climate, also no. I am mostly just making historical sense of our current predicament. But as any historian desperate for approval will tell you, the lessons of the past teach us an awful lot of the future.
Our higher institutions failed in subsidiarity by leaving lower institutions out to dry. And now, thoroughly brittle, the lower bases of society are being trodden by the same higher powers responsible for their weakening. That is how we got to Pride Month 2024. Eventually, the public will become a plaything tossed about by its overlords, reduced to little more than a set piece in what is really a dual competition between state and economic powers. Unless, of course, we start taking both sides of the virtue of subsidiarity seriously.

Open the Borders to let the Sunshine in. Or to do what intelligence agencies do best, infiltrate, create division and dissension within the ranks. What is that Agenda? Look to the United Nations Agenda 21 and you will find a deceptively written, crafted document covering almost everything, which is to make people feel like they can make a difference for good by implementing this plan introduced at the Rio Earth Summit chaired by Canadian billionaire and Rockefeller colleague Maurice Strong.

The plan is a totalitarian blueprint to regionalize the country and eventually herd man into smart crowded cities where there exists no privacy and 24/7 surveillance. Forget your car. It's gone, only for the elite. Private property and the family are gone also. Taking a vacation out West. According to their Agenda 21 plans the west is depopulated and filled now with wild animals. Go West young man. You can't go West. They won't let you off of the "reservation" or out of "prison". The State will be your daddy. Communitarianism will prevail, which is really Communism controlled by the Super-elite.
As World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab stated, "You will own nothing and You will be happy.” What he is really saying is, "You will own nothing and We will be happy because we will own everything." Spokes man Yuval Noah Harari echoed the globalist sentiment when he said, You are a hackable creature, a thing in commerce, in the internet of things. Forget your freedom. You have no soul and no rights." therefore no dignity. You are nothing but an energy input. You are expendable and not needed. Nice guy. I am sure he and his kind will think highly of us and our families when we surrender our freedoms and rights to their New World Order/Great Reset.
And then the World Health Organization wants the power to control your body and create vaccine passports to monitor you. Sovereignty and freedom of our body is gone. No privacy as you are a thing in commerce and owned by the new Global state. And we are administered compulsory toxic vaccines. without informed consent which makes us sickly. So glad they care about us!
They have created the problems of climate change, pandemics and terror so they could propose the solution to resolve the fear they created in us and therefore control us. The solution always involves a draconian alternative policy: such as carbon tax, mandatory vaccination and vaccine passports, constant 24/7 surveillance , etc. which enfeebles us and empowers them.
Using global engineering they have weaponized weather by polluting the air with sub micron metals and filaments which they continually spray 24/7. They call the spraying a reaction to climate change, instead of a ruse and total subversion, using the geoengineered chemtrails to attack our blood and immune system by creating a blanket of hazy clouds filled with toxic metals and filaments which also contaminates the food, water, animals and all of nature.
They have practiced illegal gain of function research creating virulent diseases and weaponized vaccines and created the Covid-19 nightmare where the vaccine is a bioweapon more deadly and injurious than the disease they spawned.
They have used secret advanced weapons funded by the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and DARPA, like the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) which are an array of large high powered radio frequency transmitters which can heat up the ionosphere and manipulate the jet stream and cause severe weather patterns including hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts and floods.
They have created subterfuges and blamed weather problems on man when they use advanced directed energy weapons to cause terrible fires and grab valuable property. including but not limited to fires in California and Maui.
Since 9/11 they have designated the people as enemy combatants and confiscated their privacy and freedom from illegal searches and seizure by illegally storing all of American's e-mail communications, text messages, phone calls, and searches in the name of the" War on Terror", a terrorism they have created.
They are obsessed with control and gathering data and all possible information on us and have built a massive intelligence storage center in Utah called the Intelligence Community Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative Data Center with estimated storage in the area of exabytes or larger.
They have weaponized parts of government, the media, the social platforms, the universities, the military etc. by getting their loyal globalists into power to carry out their Agenda.

Can People Cope with the Challenges of Life when so Much of their Culture has been destroyed?
Depression, the meaninglessness of life and spiritual deprivation engulfs so many people today, because they no longer have the cultural knowledge gained from familiarity with their classic literature and religion which teaches how to deal with the challenges of life and how to grapple with inner demons. This knowledge has been lost. It has been excised from education as outdated, racist, not inclusive, judgmental, and white.
Hanne Herland reminds us of the importance of culture to survival and a moral life. She gives us hope for our revival by pointing out that Russia is again Christian despite decades of enforced communist atheism, which was also enforced on Americans by liberals and Jews. For example, no prayers in school, no Christian symbols in public places.
Alexander Solzhenitsyn, author of The Gulag Archipelago, was a hero in America as a Soviet dissident until his speech at Harvard University at which he said that “men have forgotten God,” and that this forgetfulness is the explanation for the numerous crises and social and personal maladies of our time.
Instantly, Solzhenitsyn became persona non grata.
If you are a Christian, a real one and not a worshipper of Israel, you can understand what has happened to us in terms of Satan squeezing the good out of Western civilization and replacing it with evil.
When I challenge this thought, I am confronted by the facts that it wasn’t Russia, China, and Iran who on the basis of totally false accusations overthrew the governments in Iraq and Libya and murdered the leaders. It wasn’t Russia, China, and Iran who tried to do the same in Afghanistan and Syria. It is not Russia, China and Iran who are providing the bombs and aircraft and money and diplomatic cover to Israel to exterminate the Palestinians.
It is not the Russians, Chinese, and Iranians who are provoking more war.
It is Washington and its EU Empire.
If you consider the bare-faced facts, it is evil flowing from the Western World that is operating in the world.
Russia, China and Iran think they are confronting governments that have lost their senses. They are relying on the threat of the breakout of a world war to bring the West to its senses.They do not understand that they are confronting evil with whom no negotiations are possible.
This means that the halting, hesitant, insufficient responses of Russia, China, and Iran to evil are too weak to be effective.
The liberals, the left-wing, the Woke are the ones who destroyed the cultural knowledge of the West, thereby depriving the people of the ability to confront evil. For the liberal-left-Woke destroyers of civilization, spiritual evil is incomprehensible. For them the only evils are Trump, “white racism” and “Putin’s aggression.”
In the liberal-left-Woke matrix there are no other evils.
The West no longer rests on a Western culture. It rests on sexual perversion and the promotion by governments, corporations, and universities of transgenderism and critical race theory. Western nations have been replaced with Sodom and Gomorrah and towers of babel. Enemies are necessary to justify the US military/security complex’s massive budget and power. The more enemies the larger the budget and power.
There is not much more hope in American conservatives than there is in the liberal-left-Woke contingent. Conservatives confuse their country with the government. As Albert Jay Nock and Thomas Jefferson clearly explained, the two are entirely different. But it is an important distinction that is over the heads of many conservatives.
Solzhenitsyn told us that when respect for religion, traditional values, family, and religious faith are stripped from a society, society has been disarmed and no protection remains against the triumph of evil. As the liberal-left-Woke contingent has stripped away these protections, evil is now the dominant power in the Western World.
Russia, China and Iran do not confront Western governments capable of reason. They confront unbridled evil.
Putin puzzles why the West is so unreasonable. The answer is that evil is unreasonable. You cannot make a deal with it.

Pride Month 2024: How Did We Get Here?
The deep roots of our current social crisis lie in failed subsidiarity.

As my eyes endure another Pride Month, I’m struck by the scope of a movement that barely two election cycles ago was opposed by the majority of Americans. At least once a year, our entire society is covered in more glitter and rainbows than a 7-year-old girl’s birthday party. Recent pushback notwithstanding, Pride is everywhere—in our stores, our schools, our billboards, our churches, and even our crosswalks. It’s treated as a decidedly settled topic. Opposition to the LGBTQ+ agenda is incredibly unpopular and not tolerated in our institutions.
All of this in less than twenty years (doesn’t anyone remember Obama in 2008?). Christianity didn’t achieve such spread for hundreds of years. Even Islam’s more, er, aggressive evangelization tactics couldn’t achieve such hegemony in a mere twenty years. It forcefully prompts even the most uninterested to wonder: How did we get here?
The simple answer is staring us in the face all this month; LGBTQ+ ideology has spread so far and so fast on the wings of corporate and state investment. Twenty years of movies, television, advertisements, government-sponsored parades, events, recolored infrastructure, and so on have had their intended effect. How did we get here? Simple: government and cultural agendas.
But those of longer memory are left to wonder how those institutions—corporate and state—became so militant. It didn’t used to be this way. The single biggest cultural whip today—Hollywood itself—used to be a conscious promoter of Christian values.
It was called the Hay’s Code, and it controlled every major picture released from 1934 through 1968. Created by a Jesuit priest and enforced by a Catholic layman, the code aimed to prevent films from “lowering the moral standards” of the audience. While there was plenty objectionable in the Hay’s Code (bans on interracial marriage come to mind), for the most part it worked. American media in the 1940s and ’50s still has a reputation for pure optimism and simple virtue, if anything to a fault.
Amazingly, the code wasn’t a government imposition. It was self-censorship from movie studios, brought about by religious activism and even the personal convictions of executives. But neither was it completely devoid of state action, as a variety of cities and states had censorship boards that created economic pressures on studios to clean up their content.
The Hay’s Code is a snapshot of a well-integrated society. The general public, corporate megaliths, government power, and religious tradition all worked together to uphold a coherent public morality—all according to the principle of subsidiarity.
It is this principle of subsidiarity that has failed us today. But not in the way you think. Most Catholics know subsidiarity prohibits higher powers from overriding more local institutions; but few remember that the definition extends in the opposite direction, which is where our culture has primarily failed.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines subsidiarity as such:
a community of a higher order should not interfere in the internal life of a community of a lower order, depriving the latter of its functions, but rather should support it in case of need and help to coordinate its activity with the activities of the rest of society, always with a view to the common good.
Catholics today understand the first part of the definition, as they feel the weight of “higher order” institutions interfering with their daily lives (especially in June). But these higher institutions are only able to interfere with the lower because the higher first failed in the second part of the definition; they failed in their duty to support the lower orders.
Remember again the Hay’s Code. It avoided an unnecessarily high power (say the federal government) coming in and regulating the film industry, instead effectively self-regulating without appeal to an order above that of private business. But it only did so because the higher order (state and local governments) created the conditions for such self-regulation through local censorship boards. The common good of public morality was safeguarded without top-down, heavy-handed state power; but only because bottom-up, small state power moved to support such public morality and the lower-level institutions capable of doing so.
Picture society like a big triangle. Right in the middle is “the public”—their morality, welfare, opinions, and all the other stuff that we might as well dub “the common good.” From this pubic is formed a state as the top of the triangle. And, from the same public, is formed corporate and media entities, in the left corner. Lastly, there is the spiritual pole in the right corner—that is, the religious beliefs and institutions accepted or rejected by that same general public. Confusing?

As you see, all four of these realms interconnect. The three corners arise out of the center; but then they, in turn, have an effect on that central public. Individuals and the public at large are formed by economic and cultural expressions; government structure and laws; and spiritual ideas and practices. How people are formed then influences them to recreate those very institutions that continue to form themselves and others—and the entire social body forms a feedback circle (or triangle, as it’s too late now to change my visual aid).
Ideally, this is a virtuous circle reinforcing itself toward greater goods. And with the fixture of the public in the center, it indeed tends that way. Like spokes on a (triangular) wheel, it is very hard for any single entity to get too far removed from the rest. One area might win temporary ascendency, but there are enough interlocking checks and balances to prevent complete domination of any one party.
That is, if society follows the checks and balances.
If there is a weak point in the triangle, it is religion. It depends on the public to adhere to it to have power to check the other arms of society. And without control of the army or the pocketbook, it is in danger without the aid of state or corporate defense. And if it does cease to be a major player (as it indisputably has today), you’re left with another crummy visual aid that’s at least a little less complicated:

There are only three powers at play now, which, off the bat, will give less opportunities for checks and balances. Yet nevertheless, our godless society can still produce a virtuous cycle. Each corner gets checked by the other two, making it still very hard for any one to dominate the rest. Afterall, our own American government functions on a similar model—so it must be alright.
But here’s where the Hay’s Code comes back into play (you forgot, didn’t you). With the invention of modern media, the triangle is no longer three equal powers. The state puts pressure on the public; mass media has a formative force on the population; but the public can’t push back as hard. Especially without a transcendent framework to anchor themselves, the general population is quickly tossed along the waves of corporate and state fancy. The virtuous circle then quickly becomes a vicious one.
The society of the Hay’s Code recognized this unbalance and tried to correct it. But as religion faded, so did its power over corporate schemes; and by the end of the 1950s, mass media was more of a force in the opposite direction, helping to open the floodgates of the ’60s sexual revolution.
And so goes our society today. The loss of religion created a culture in which corporate-state powers dominate public formation. And the loss of religion itself was made possible by the corporate-state powers’ failures to guard and defend religion, as is required by subsidiarity (don’t worry, that’s the end of the triangles).
This sort of reasoning calls to mind debates over integralism. Right-leaning Catholics today argue about religious freedom, pitting Vatican II pluralism against traditionalist confessional states. Anti-liberal voices want an America where Catholicism is the official religion. Mainstream conservative voices just want an America where Catholicism is left alone.
In the gun smoke of such battles, we miss the common ground eroding under our feet—the duties of subsidiarity toward the religious order. Whether states have a duty to acknowledge the particular Catholic religion or not, they must acknowledge religion in general. Even a maximally-pluralistic reading of Vatican II must accept the religious corner of the triangle and the state’s duty to protect and uphold it (see Dignitatis Humanae §6 if you don’t believe me).
Am I advocating for the Hay’s Code? No. Am I advocating for media censorship? Given our current climate, also no. I am mostly just making historical sense of our current predicament. But as any historian desperate for approval will tell you, the lessons of the past teach us an awful lot of the future.
Our higher institutions failed in subsidiarity by leaving lower institutions out to dry. And now, thoroughly brittle, the lower bases of society are being trodden by the same higher powers responsible for their weakening. That is how we got to Pride Month 2024. Eventually, the public will become a plaything tossed about by its overlords, reduced to little more than a set piece in what is really a dual competition between state and economic powers. Unless, of course, we start taking both sides of the virtue of subsidiarity seriously.
