The Value of Family Farms
#11
I'm doing my part by keeping my crocheting alive. I like using natural yarn fibers.

DreamTime, I've noticed that some local farm stores sell artwork and crafts by local artists and craftspersons.  Do any near you?  I know you make jewelry as well.

I would have to go searching for any craft fairs near me. The farm store that we have nearby only has fruits and vegetables.

We have a couple Amish towns called Middlebury and Shipshewana near here and they sell all kinds of handmade goods.

I would think those towns are a great place to visit, Richard.

They are great places to visit. That’s where we bought DT’s spinning wheel. Here’s some links if anyone wants to check them out.

Yes Polly, I spin yarn. I am not real good at it, but I can do it and I love it. Although since we got Anubis, I have had to put it away since he liked to eat the fiber. I think that maybe now that he is older, I could probably bring it out again. As long as I don't pull out the rabbit fur.

I live in a small town called Eden.  I consider it my *paradise*.  It's very small town and my husband and I live in a place that has tons of trees over our home.  Lots of birds singing.  The population in the 2000 census was 793.  Well... what I'm really here to talk about is our local produce stand.  It's called How Sweet It Is.  Although husband moves the "T" and just has to refer to it everytime we pass it as How Sweet Tit Is.

It started as a tiny produce stand many years ago and now it's really stocked up.  I buy my Smith Island crab Cakes there and soft crabs.  Yup... that's our "local produce" - crab cakes and soft shells!
