Tina Fey signs book deal said worth millions

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Comedian, Emmy-winning TV star and Sarah Palin-lookalike Tina Fey has signed a book deal with Little, Brown Book Group, the company said on Monday, confirming a deal media reports said was worth millions.

The New York Post has reported that the deal was worth more than $5 million and that "her book is not being pitched as a memoir, but instead as nonfiction humor, more in the style of author, screenwriter and film director Nora Ephron."

The publisher did not confirm the advance paid nor give any further details of the book by Fey, the "Saturday Night Live" veteran who stars as a harried head writer of a TV variety show in NBC network television spoof "30 Rock." The show picked up four Emmys last month.

Fey has recently attracted attention for impersonating Republican vice presidential candidate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in parodies on "Saturday Night Live."

Little, Brown is part of France's Hachette, which is owned by conglomerate Lagardere.

I tried so hard to stay up for Sat. Nite Live last weekend but I just couldn't do it.  I was soooo sleepy - but knew Tina Fey was going to do something on Sarah Palin and the debate.  Thank God for YouTube. Maybe this weekend I will try again to watch.

This is what needs to happen .. hehe .. the real Sarah Palin and Tina Fey need to have a sketch together on SNL.  And the writing needs to be funny.  They need to come face to face.  Oh yeah... that's the ticket!  :D

I like Tina and I thought she was hilarious doing Palin. I thought it was interesting that she got offered millions to do it a book, so I posted this story to give DT the push to finish her book and get a good offer for it. ;)

lol... it does help if it's funny.

There is some kinda SNL show on NBC tonight at 9:30pm eastern.  It's called SNL Update.  Maybe they are doing primetime news now.  If I don't watch the two new French movies on TCM, I'm going to try and see the SNL show tonight.  They STILL need to have Palin on.
