Washington, D.C.'s Astrological Secrets
#1
by Marcia Masino

Washington is a unique city in that a major component of its original design is based on astrology, according to author David Ovason in his book The Secret Architecture of Our Nation’s Capital, published by Harper Collins.

Aligned with the Stars
Ovason suggests that Washington’s planners followed the teachings of the ancient Greek and Egyptian mysteries by aligning the city with a constellation’s fixed stars. His well-researched book explores the mystery of the 1791 planning of the city’s Federal Triangle, consisting of the Washington Monument, White House and Capitol building and their alignment with the three main stars of the constellation Virgo.

On August 10, 1791, the three fixed stars Arcturus, Regulus and Spica rose at sunset, forming a celestial triangle, and the city’s Federal Triangle was engineered to mirror the constellation’s pattern. Why fixed stars? They appeared to be permanent, therefore suggesting stability and spiritual benevolence, desirable traits when constructing a powerful institutional setting. “A sunset leading to the rise of three stars is rare,” Ovason writes, “And a city’s alignment with it is unique.”

Virgo Symbols in the Nation’s Capital
The designers’ choice to link Virgo with the capital indicates that they may have had a mystical intention to establish balance between the masculine and feminine. Ovason cites the numerous images of a beautiful woman holding a sheaf of grain, the symbol for Virgo, appearing on the nation’s architectural decorations. This woman, the virgin, is the only female character in the entire zodiac. Therefore, the most feminine archetypal energy offering healing, purity and wisdom is permanently linked with what appears to be a highly masculine world.

Virgo also appears with a cornucopia, symbolizing the fulfillment of time, prosperity and agriculture. This sign associates with traits of redemption and organization, desirable in a post-war society.

The signs Gemini and Virgo are associated with the planet of communication, Mercury. As the female Mercury (Virgo is considered a “feminine” sign in astrology, while Gemini is considered “masculine”), she represents analysis and critical thinking, qualities that the forward-looking planners knew would play an important role in the nation’s future.

Virgo Prevalent in the Charts of Washington, D.C. Buildings
Astrological charts cast for the laying of important building marker stones involve Virgo in a significant way, and point to the sure knowledge of planetary movement. Jupiter was ascending in Virgo when the city’s first marker stone was laid on April 15, 1791. On October 13, 1792, the marker stone for the White House was laid with the Moon ascending in Virgo. The Capitol was founded with Mercury conjunct the Sun in Virgo on September 18, 1793, and the cornerstone for the Washington Monument was laid when the Moon was in Virgo.

Zodiacs of Our Nation’s Capital
There are 23 zodiacs in public government buildings in Washington, D.C. and many more on monuments and room interiors. The National Academy of Science has a wonderful statue of Albert Einstein overlooking a granite horoscope of the actual chart for the statue’s dedication ceremony on April 22, 1979. The Academy building also has twelve bronze stylized zodiacal characters on the south entrance hall door.

Astrological motifs appear in the Library of Congress on a clock, painted tondos (a round painting or relief) on the ceiling and a splendid marble floor in the great hall.

The Federal Reserve Board building has a beautiful 1937 Steuben glass ceiling lamp depicting the zodiac, including a version of Virgo as the Virgin Mary.

President Garfield’s memorial statue has both astrological signs and planets on the pedestal. The Mellon Memorial fountain’s rim is decorated with all twelve signs, and the Dirksen Senate office building’s interior features zodiacal characters.

The first astrological reference in the capital was the Car of History, sculpted in 1819 for the Statuary Hall. Images of Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius appear on the front of the winged chariot.

The Inauguration and Astrology
The connection between Washington, D.C. and astrology doesn’t end with the capital’s buildings. Astrological timing determined the original choice for the presidential inauguration date. The founding fathers, many of whom were Masons and therefore astrologically savvy, chose the first week of March for the inauguration because on that day the Sun, in the sign of Pisces, created a trine (favorable 120 degree angle) to the Scorpio Sun on Election Day in November and most importantly, the Cancer Sun of the birthday of the United States on July 4. Each of these is a water sign, and the intention of the founding fathers was to establish a beneficial grand water trine to ensure harmonious adjustment. The March date remained unchanged until the adoption of the Twentieth Amendment in 1933 moved it to January.

Ovason concludes that two centuries ago, designers George Washington, L’Enfant and Ellicot sought to align the city, and therefore the nation, with the stars, knowing that the power of the combination of the celestial and earthly would affect its destiny. He writes, “A city that is laid out in such a way that it is in harmony with the heavens is a city in perpetual prayer. It is a city built on the recognition that every human activity is in need of the sanctification of the spiritual world, of which the symbol is the light of the living stars.”

One day Richard the world will see the importance of our wonderful solar system and how the things that bind us will actually free us. There is more information coming out to show how important astrology is to the illuminati, they could not achieve as much as they do if they did not understand the impact of the energy created by the zodiac structure.
The triggers that have been experienced in the last few weeks were only possible because of the line up with our planets, and their connection to the constellations.

David Icke does a great job in his book, The Biggest Secret, of explaining how the Illuminati use astrology, pagan symbolism, and Earth power points and ley lines in laying out cities and erecting buildings.

I remember over a decade ago, Barbara Marciniak saying that The family of light must learn to remember what the family of dark has never forgotten and suppressed, kept hidden, and used against the masses for thousands of years. (paraphrased from memory).

The Illuminati use every solstice, every equinox, every energetic opportunity to further their agenda.   If only we could wake up and master the use of the same energies for the prosperity and well-being of all.

Spiritvoyager,
I agree, but the problem is that astrology is not hidden in our everyday living, so as it comes across as ‘common knowledge’ it is looked at as fun, a game or something you do at a fair like the gypsy in the tent!
David Icke was one of the first to bring the information out, but it is still down low on the scale of importance, all elections, wars and any major occurrences that take place on this earth must have the energy from the stars to achieve the intention of the agenda or it will fail.
I can only hope one day that people will see the importance and not have to become astrologers to do so, its basically all about energy.

Astrojewels,

I began studying astrology in depth almost 10 years ago after turning my life upside down in the midst of some powerful transits.  There is so much to explore in a natal chart if you look at it as a roadmap of the soul.  In this respect I feel that astrology as we know it today is a science in its infancy, although there are a few good books out there.

I have a pretty good feel for the energies, and a better than average understanding of the machinations of the Illuminati from studying mind control.  It's not clear to me how we would go about using this knowledge to befefit humanity.

Off the top of my head I would say, we should start by not falling into their traps, like not providing the expected emotional reaction to some staged tragedy or ritual murder.

The other idea is to encourage people to utilize the energies themselves in their everyday lives and objectives.

Do you have any suggestions?

Spiritvoyager,
You always come out with these phrases that carry a great deal of force- a science in infancy- very well said.
Astrology as I am sure you know is knowledge within knowledge, to me it is a road that leads to so many, and teaches you not to choose a road but allow the road to choose you. Without astrology I could not exist, it just gives me balance to all that I might become confused about or the times when I do feel off center.
Suggestions, well the only thing I could suggest is that each person just begin with understanding of the sun signs because they impact us all on a daily basis, understand the two energies that each sign provides and yes utilize the strengths you do have.
For an example, we are in Aries and we have the Aries who are blunt, and those who are resist saying what their mind wants to say, so during the cycle of Aries, think before you speak and you will not create friction from the energy source – mars.
What suggestions would you have?

Astrojewels,

I will definitely be visiting the Astrology archives, having recently noticed that you have made many very interesting observations in your posts about how the Illuminati use cosmic energies to control humanity.  I don't know of any other astrologers who have specifically focused of this subject.

As for how deep the average person should go with Astrology.  I think that a good feel for the energies of the sun signs, the planets, and the dignities, and basic understanding of their natal charts and transits can take people a long way in learning to perceive and assess the impact of manipulated influences on their consciousness.  It would be lovely if astrologers could bring this knowledge to more people through books and timely articles.

Of course, since most people can't even see the traps in everyday life like toxic food, TV and electronics, medical treatment that does more harm than good, etc.,  it may be overly optimistic to expect large numbers to figure out how they are manipulated through ritual.

There is a book that I love (out of print but still available) that is a great primer, but also teaches  us how to create our own rituals to work with the energies.  Inerestingly, the author, Caroline Casey, grew up in Washington D.C.  and is still based there.

Here is the Amazon link to the book: Making the Gods Work for You: The Astrological Language of the Psyche http://www.amazon.com/Making-Gods-Work-Y...740&sr=8-1

Spiritvoyager,
Optimism is an attribute of any astrologer, how else could we love our science with such passion?
The book looks interesting, I like the opening pages, you just know by the authors thoughts on these first pages of how their perception of astrology will be translated. I don’t know any other astrologers either that use the energies to calculate the open windows of opportunity for the illuminati, but there must be others because they constantly take advantage of these energies, and I do not believe in coincidence. The illuminati have a large amount of astronomers, astrologers, and clairvoyants working for them, perhaps I could get a job! But seriously I have said for a long time the planets are the most stable force in our existence, we can calculate where mars will be in ten years, but we can not do that for ourselves. It is not predicting it is merely understanding what energy is available for particular things to happen.
In general, people want to be skeptic to any universal science because in order to understand it, you must first shed a few layers of your own protection, and this usually hurts!
