It was - is - A big converging of people practicing Falun Gong in the Millions so the Govt did not want so many united under one Re-ligion or Movement as it would inter-fear with Govt control of the People. Originally it was not for mind control. I have not looked into it for awhile though. There should be a bunch of old threads from Expansions on this.

I had a Chinese professor who was writing articles against Falun Gong--he was against the man who started the falun gong and sought refuge from the United States. To my knowledge and understanding of it...it is like tai chi and qi gong. I could be wrong. If you want to look up my former profs articles against it...email me..let me know I'll give you his name. I think I tried it out with a friend once..to me it just seems more like tai chi. I don't see too much of a problem with it..except I know that its got something to do with energetics and the lemurian systems so you would want to be careful.
The Chinese government saw it as a threat and said it was a cult or something dangerous for people to join and practice..I think they were saying it is dangerous to a persons health. Not sure...but I know they ---being a communist government trying to supposedly sway towards a free market economy and maybe even a "democracy"...*coughs cuz it aint true about democracies in this world....the largest one..India..is corrupt*

I see in it much potential for harm and a mechanism for control. It is interesting to note that the most successful mechanisms appear always to stem from a corrupted form of the truth.
Sariel, thankyou for your comment elsewhere on the board today - in all my 'busy-ness' I believe I neglected to greet you.
