That's a common thing in dreams...at least in mine also. Only I would describe it as running through molasses. I'm not sure I know what it means.

Whatever it is that you are running from, depends on what you feel subconsciously.

With cement boots, it feels like you want to escape a situation, but some heavy burden is weighing you down which prevents you from doing this - again depends what you are running away from.

Kind Regards

Sounds like a want vs. need type of dream

You want to run away, but you need to stay for some reason.  If you have it again, turn your dream lucid and stop completely.  Let whatever is coming engulf you.

If you aren't adept in dream lucidity, try to keep your senses about you and look for any clues as to what is going on.  Where are you?  Inside?  Outside?  Are their mountains?  Are there animals?  Who all is running?  Grass, pictures, the moon, carpet, colors, smells, stars, whatever you can gather no matter how meaningless it seems at the time.

Post what you find here and we can probably help further.

Not to confuse the issue here.  But just to blab inanely hehehe.... ummm where was i....  oh yeah...

In indian legend, there is a dimension that you can get to that feels like your walking with heavy legs.  Like the whole dimension is weighing you down.  Just a thought.....

Hi William - your info sounds very interesting.  Do you know any links where I could perhaps read some of these legends? I'm assuming you are referring to Nth Am. Indian, is this from one area or a general belief from many groups?  It's simpler to ask for links than trawl thru' hundreds of websites - thanks.

Hi Reader,  If you search thru Old indian type legends you will find what im talking about.  However, It is in Carlos Castaneds books.  Have you heard of him?  I have all of his books but would have to look thru them all to find it.  Sometimes I make footnotes at the begining of the book about such things.

Hi William - yes, I know of Carlos Castenada but it's many years since I read anything - I will see what I can find, thanks.

Sorry Asil if we got a bit off the track here - I haven't experienced this in dreams, but I have heard friends say they have at times.  As it is fairly common, there should be some explanations in a dream analysis book if you have access to any.  Many dream symbols and situations are commonly experienced by lots of people as we all have similar feelings and obstacles in our lives.  It must be frustrating for you in your dream life, but any repetitious situation in dreams is usually the subconscious really trying to get a message through and it is really good that you want to sort it out.  Hopefully someone can offer some more helpful advice to you.
