Why so much antagonism against eugenics?

Why so much antagonism against eugenics? I mean it was a science supported by patriots like Teddy Roosevelt and, if not taken to some extreme as Sanger promoted, I see nothing wrong with it.  Should we not try to employ science to ensure we have healthy people in the future?

It is to promote a herd mentality. Every sheep has to behave the same as the other with the same characteristics.
