The hope, the possibility, the chance that all people can come together and live as they should ALL YEAR ROUND.
... I enjoy the Xmas carols that they air on TV and in most towns. Where I live down the coast they are planning to have their Xmas Carols this year on Dec13th, which is tonight at 8.30pm... and it'll be conducted at my local yatch club... shucks.LOLOL
But in all reality... I'd sooner attend a concert by any of many a top rock band rather than Xmas carols.
But if you like Xmas so much Sily, that's ok in my books.:D

As for Xmas as a 'whole', I don't really know what to say. It's just another day set aside by the fascists to make people go out and blow their hard earned dollars. As for santa and his raindeer... well, whatever turns you on I suppose.

Thanks Andrew.... :)
Astrojewels - it's the most wonderful time of the year. With the kids jingle belling and everyone telling you *be of good cheer*. It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's the hap - happiest season of all. With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings, when friends come to call. There'll be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting and caroling out in the snow. There will be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago. There will be much mistltoeing, and hearts will be glowing when loved ones are near, it's the most wonderful time of the year!

I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas,
I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas,
I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas, from the bottom of my heart.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
I think the statement is true:
listening to Xmas music creates wealth and consumption mentality.
I don't see a financial crisis in my country here at all, everybody is shopping, incredible amounts of people big spending, much work to do, many (brainwork) jobs unfulfilled.

Maybe I need to come and stay with you one Christmas silly! LOLââ¬Â¦ hope you had a good time at the carols Andrew, I went to my daughters last week with her school, was it raining down your way, I can not believe how cold it is for this time of year, but the rain is great.
I would have to agree with MN and it is the commercialism of it all, it really is a time for retailers.
Everybody is spending here too, but the government just gave away lots of money to ensure that people do spend! The snow must be very nice, I have never seen snow yetââ¬Â¦

LOL, Besides spending, everybody here is eating a lot, too.
Imagine how busy we are here and what we have to do next weeks:
Eating turkey, or rabbit or much beef, cheese etc., drinkig lots of wine, champaign, watching TV for showmasters, listening to music of Frank Sinatra and Walt Disney, and evaluating the year, and worrying about next year because the forecast is we will spend 0,5% less in 2009. That's the Alice in Wonderland mentality here.
AJ, enjoy Australia; good rest, lots of space and warm weather is the highest property you can get.
BTW: I don't like snow (besides in the Alp mountains or in my refrigerator).

Octahedron,
I have to admit I love Christmas food, yep love turkey and cranberry sauce and all the sweets, and yes we all over eat this time of the year. Andrew X, the rain here did not pelt down, it lasted a few days and was nice and slow, good for the ground to soak it up, good for the crops.
