Kung Fu star David Carradine died 'when auto erotic sex game went wrong'

Jun 5 2009 By Andrew Drummond

KILL BILL star David Carradine was found hanged in his Thai hotel room yesterday after an apparent sex game went wrong.

The 72-year-old was naked in a closet and had a curtain cord around his neck. It was also attached to his private parts.

Police in Thailand, where Carradine was making a movie called Stretch, said a maid at his Bangkok hotel found him hanging from the door of a wardrobe yesterday morning.

Chuck Binder, the actor's manager, described his death as "accidental".

He added: "It's just shocking. He was full of life, always wanting to work - a great person."

It was believed Carradine - who rose to fame as Grasshopper in cult 70s TV series Kung Fu - had committed suicide. But there was no note and pals insisted he had not been depressed.

One of Carradine's friends, David Winters, said it was "impossible" he would have killed himself.

He added: "I'd have to see a suicide note to believe that David would ever contemplate such a thing."

Police later refused to confirm or deny Carradine's death was the result of an "auto-erotic" sex act similar to the one that killed INXS rocker Michael Hutchence in 1997.

But a spokesman added: "We do not believe anybody else was involved in his death." They said Carradine had been dead for at least 12 hours before he was found.

His body was taken to hospital for an autopsy. The actor arrived in Thailand on Tuesday and checked in to room 352 of the five-star Nai Lert Park Hotel.

He was due to have dinner with the crew from his film onWednesday night but failed to turn up for the meal.

Carradine appeared in almost 200 films, including Death Race 2000 and The Long Riders. For most of his career, he played villains and elderly martial arts experts in low-budget thrillers.

But he returned to the limelight in 2003 when Quentin Tarantino cast him as Bill in revenge movie Kill Bill.

He also appeared in Kill Bill - Vol II, in 2004, earning a Golden Globe nomination as best supporting actor.

Carradine said at the time: "All that was ever required was somebody with Quentin's courage to take and put me in the spotlight."

Carradine admitted he had been hooked on drugs and booze in the past but had been sober for years.

He is survived by his fifth wife, Annie, and two daughters. His dad John, brother Bruce and half-brothers Keith and Robert were also actors.

Hutchence hanged himself with his belt from the door spring of a hotel room in Sydney. He was naked when he was found and he left no note.

His brother insisted his death was not suicide but as the result of a sex game. Cutting off oxygen to the brain during sex acts is believed by some to enhance pleasure.

Was Actor Carradine Murdered for Investigating Secret Societies?

Infowars
June 6, 2009

During a segment that aired on the Larry King Show, CNN correspondent Jerry Penacoli says the death of David Carradine “was abnormal, the death was not natural. And the evidence shows that there were ropes tied around David’s neck and around his genitalia and that they were tied together. And that there is a report — several reports that there were ropes tied around his wrists.”

“It can’t be a suicide, necessarily. But what I find puzzling is that they’re saying that there’s no evidence that there was any other person or persons in the room. Well, you can’t tie your — your own wrists together and then have what happened happen. So it’s mysterious. And it just keeps getting deeper.”

Larry King turns to Mark Geragos, attorney for the actor’s brother, Keith Carradine. “Did he seem like he was depressed?”

“Not at all,” responds Geragos. “He was very excited. This was, apparently, a short movie stint over there. He was looking forward to getting back here. He just got a car. He’s a car nut. Had just been — being a fellow car nut, I can tell you, you don’t go out and buy a car right before you’re going to off yourself, generally. He was excited about coming back and had talked to his wife the night before.”

Later in the segment, Penacoli says a filmmaker and director named Damian Chapa, who worked with Carradine, said he “believes that there was foul play” in Carradine’s death. “And he said that no one else knows this but his family — Carradine’s family and friends and people closest to him, but David was very interested in investigating and disclosing secret societies.” (Emphasis added.)

“So whatever that means…”

It means you can end up dead.

David Carradine Bangkok death mystery: manager claims 'foul play'

David Carradine's death was a result of "foul play", his manager has claimed as director Quentin Tarantino said the actor would have relished dying in such mysterious circumstances.

Carradine, 72, was discovered naked and hanged in the wardrobe of his Bangkok hotel room on Thursday morning. A rope was tied around his neck and another around his genitals. An autopsy has yet to determine the cause of death and Thai police said they could not rule out suicide or a sex game gone wrong.

The star's personal manager, Chuck Binder, rejected the suicide theory but told CNN's Larry King: "I don't know if you want to call it accidental.

"I got some some calls from Thailand today from a producer that worked with him. I don't want to get into the middle of this whole investigation, but this guy said to me for sure there was foul play."

Tarantino, who revived Carradine's career by casting him in Kill Bill, described the star of 1970s series Kung Fu as "one of Hollywood's great, mad geniuses". Asked if Carradine would have liked his death to be the subject of such fevered speculation, Tarantino agreed: He told CNN: "If the last chapter of his autobiography was 'The Mysterious Demise of David Carradine', that would be perfect."

Michael Madsen, Carradine's Kill Bill co-star, added: "I think he would like it that way. It's a typical David way to go - the mysterious death of David Carradine."

Rob Schneider, the actor and director who appeared with Carradine in 2007 comedy Big Stan, said there were parallels with the case of Bruce Lee, whose death in 1973 sparked numerous conspiracy theories.

"The truth is, I think David always felt bad he took the Kung Fu role that was originated from Bruce Lee. I think it's a really odd and beautiful mystery that it's the same way as Bruce Lee. We'll never know exactly what happened with Bruce Lee," said Schneider.

A maid discovered Carradine's body in the luxury suite of the Nai Lert Park Hotel in Bangkok, after she knocked on the door and received no response. The actor was in the city to make a film.

"This certainly was not a natural cause of death," said Nantana Sirisap, chief coroner at Bangkok's Chulalongkom Hospital, adding that toxicology tests had been ordered.

Police chief Colonel Somprasong Yentuam said the investigation was continuing "We are currently interviewing witnesses, film crew, hotel staff and the last person who saw David alive. So far, no-one saw anyone enter David's room around the estimated time of death."

Aurelio Giraudo, the hotel's general manager, said the actor checked into the hotel on May 31 and appeared in good spirits, chatting with staff and entertaining guests by playing piano in the lobby.

"I was a fan. I had a very nice talk with him when he checked in. He was very much a person full of life. I mentioned to him that I had seen [the film] Crank with my family and that was the last smile he gave me," Mr Giraudo said.

Carradine's wife, Annie, and close friends rejected suggestions that the actor deliberately took his own life, despite the fact he had spoken openly of contemplating suicide in the past.

Michael Madsen said: "I don't think he was suicidal by any stretch of the imagination. I talked to Annie and she said the most important thing she wanted everybody to know is that David was not suicidal, he was not depressed and he was not going to do something like that."

Tarantino added: "There might have been a period of David's long life that he could have been suicidal, but this wasn't the time."

Quote:Tarantino added: "There might have been a period of David's long life that he could have been suicidal, but this wasn't the time."
That's right, but with all suicides, they can have an opposing outcome as I mentioned; it's character dependant.  They'll either destroy their own life or another's in search for what they feel is the only manner of 'release'.

But Tarantino knows more about this than what he's letting on; as in who murdered David.  I liked a couple of Tarantino's films, but I never liked him as a person and my close friends can vouch for that; never.

What do you think about Mel? He's from Australia. Maybe you know him? Are there more famous actors/actresses from there except for Kylie Minogue and that girl that played Xena and of course Peta Wilson (Nikita)?

I find movies from there very symbolic/programmed i.e. The Tribe series from New Zealand.

Comparing David Carradine to Bruce lee, please that is an insult, I agree with Andrew X that he did have an angry nature, I have also seen it on interviews, he was very abrupt and rude and his persona sends off that energy. I agree with xanthas that it was a ritual death, however the nature of how the ropes were tied suggests punishment, Thailand offers many things to those with unusual desires.
