Alien Looking Figure Head
#1
This post is a crossover in terms of possible topic heading.

I am currently taking a hand clay class and tonight we were given instructions on making  heads. The others in the class followed the instructions and guide of the teacher.  I created my head, but wasn't drawn to the sample model the teacher demonstrated.  Instead, my head became an alien figure.

Now, I have never produced an alien in clay before.  It just kinda molded itself.  The others in the class commented that the head looked like something from outer space or reminded them of a grey.

What struck me as interesting, is that I actually had fun making the figure and didn't feel any aversion to what was created.   In the past, I have had grey looking head patterns appear in my abstract acrylic paintings and would paint over them because they freaked me out.

I think the those in my class thought it looked like a grey because of the eyes were protuding and had no pupils.  The head also didn't have any ears.  One commented that the tongue looked like a snake and nose looked like a witch. I would say both points were correct. ..hey, we are nearing Halloween.

Has any one else done any drawings of aliens??

I remember back in middle school, my art teacher told us to draw any cartoons that come to mind.

I didn't know what to draw, so I just let whatever motions come through my hands. I ended up drawing a triangular head because it was easy, then large eyes, then a space suit because I thought it look like an alien. And then I colored it green because I learned aliens are green. It'd be a green grey.

My pic was one of the pics that she put up in front of class for originality.
But I don't think anyone at that time knew what a grey was. I don't think it was on TV much until now. I didn't even have a clue.

I have done artwork about space, spaceships and aliens in elementary school. However my concept of aliens at that time was that they looked like normal people.

I don't recall  ever drawing aliens or spaceships or outer space .

That's curious GoldenWinged SnakeOiLion that you depicted aliens as normal people.

There were a few TV sit-coms in the states where aliens were in human form.

Mork and Mindy, My Favorite Martian ,3rd Rock From the Sun.
