Baking soda helps our body alkalinize. Eventually we want to eat 4 times alkaline than acid food. On websites out there, they say 80% alkaline food and 20% acid food is the ideal healthy diet. But if we already are unhealthy, aging prematurely, plagued with headaches, disorientated, and/or tired (especially after a meal when our bodies might become more acidic), there needs to be a persistent commitment toward alkalinizing the body first and foremost.
As part of the solution, for every 1 liter of water, drop in 1 teaspoon of baking soda, then drink that. You need to drink 1 liter of water for every 18Kgs of body weight (I think that's 36 pounds), on a daily basis.

Practically, an average water bottle is 500 mL, or .5 L, half a liter, so you need to drink TWO water bottles for every 1 liter of water. That's not very practical, so just drink half as much as you need and then lean towards a more alkaline diet.

I've eliminated most meat from my diet and switched to drinking water with baking soda and I feel more healthy. I also use baking soda as a skin exfoliation and teeth bleecher.
