BRAZIL'S ANCIENT SIX-TOED FOOTPRINTS
#1
ANCIENTDIMENSIONS ARTICLE:.

Brazil's Barra do Garças region has a rich and mystical history.

Ataíde Ferreira da Silva Neto, president of the Association of Mato-grossense de Pesquisas Ufológicas e Psíquicas (AMPU), cites legends of local indians that tell of a time when there were small creatures approximately 1,20 m in height living among their ancestors. These beings all had a disproportionate head to body ratio and unlike humans walked with three, four and even six toes on each foot. They lived in caves and apparently came from the stars.

The story is a similar one to tales from the indians of the Xingu, in the Amazon and still other intriguing aboriginal legends exist citing a fire covered cart that came out of the sky one day, its inhabitants teaching the indigenous cultures many things before once more heading back to the their home in the heavens.

According to AMPU's president, a curious cave exists in the Blue Mountain State Park of Barra do Garças and in this grotto can be found petrified marks of feet on the ceiling, in the soil and on the walls. It too is linked to local aboriginal legend.

Elder Monteiro Antunes, co-ordinator for Conservation Unit of the State Secretary of Environment (Sema), says of the mystery footprints, "We intend to make an archaeological study in the future to determine just how they have been formed, if they were natural or some aboriginal tribe had made the marks thousand of years ago. Many explanations exist, but none is proven."

That is a bit strange; sheep do follow one another but not usually in single form. There will be more stories to come and things that people have seen heard or just know to be true.
