Has anyone here  ever done a caffeine detox?

May I ask - do you mean using caffeine to detox or removing the caffeine from your system?

My husband once reached toxic levels of caffeine in his system.  We didn't know that was possible but apparently one can overdose on caffeine just like anything else.  He had to quit cold turkey and felt pretty bad for about a week.

Here's an article that pretty much describes what he went through: http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/profs/PUartic...ffeine.htm

Thanks GertrudaRose. I appreciate your input. I was referring to removing caffeine from the system. I don't like being dependent on anything.

I think I'm getting caffeine overload and want to try a detox. Caffeine is classified as drug , I think. I'm not sure what level, but a drug nonetheless. A legal one;). I've heard horror stories comparing it to heroin withdrawal . At any rate I'm not going cold turkey and will do the most of it after the holidays.

Wish me luck?!

I drink quite a lot of coffee; it helps my digestion system and yes, I'm a little dependent to it to wake up or focus better.

It is not as bad as heroin. You'll get headaches off and on for 5 or 6 days... I'm sure heroin is much worse.

Personally, I went from drinking outrageous levels of caffeine, to none at all. Within a week or so I felt great! I drank mostly water, and I had so much MORE energy that I had no idea what to do with it! I would wake up feeling energized and alive, instead of groggy and dead to the world.

I started working out to release all that extra energy. One day I woke up and my whole body had transformed. Miraculous.

that means: you-caffeine+exercise=sexy lol

Best of luck!

I, as well, quit caffeine a long time ago. It made my heart skip a beat when I had too much so I just quit. There are almost no symptoms though... I had a few mild headaches but it was nothing compared to the benefits. Watch soda pop and chocolate as well. They have caffeine in them too. Tea is worse than coffee.
Quit cold turkey... You won't be sorry.

I always heard coffee has more caffeine than tea.

Last week I had a long trip with my car. That day there was extensive chemtrail bombing over the country, I got a nausea and a little headache.

Because I had to go back home that day with car driving, what to do besides balancing etc. ?

At a tankstation I took a big drink of Coca Cola and a bar full of chocolate;

I needed the caffeine in this rare occasion to stop the headache and to increase my awareness.

I once read that pound for pound, tea has more caffeine. But you use more coffee than tea to make a drink, so you end up with more caffeine per cup.
