Cat predicts patients' deaths
#11
The most interesting thing about this whole story is that it has become world news, and without a skeptic to criticize, whenever I see a story about a paranormal event, all broadcasters have an opposing opinion and the skeptic gets to have their say last on the story so it has more impact on those watching.
The majority of the population can relate to something peculiar about their pet, some weird and unexplainable event, I would say that Oscar has performed a remarkable achievement with his silent voice.

I ran across a similar story about a dog.

Local Pooch Knows When You're About To Die

SINKING SPRING, Pa. -- When Libby the 14-year-old therapy dog enters the room, folks light up.

It's when Libby plants her feet firmly on the ground and refuses to enter a room that things get more complicated.

Her owner says the therapy poodle knows when someone is about to die, NBC 10 medical reporter Cherie Bank reported.

"The first few times, I really didn't put it together," said Marge Stiller, the poodle's owner and trainer.

Stiller said when Libby won't pass the threshold, it's because "she has the ability to know -- I don't want to say predict -- know when a person is going to be passing away within 24 hours."

And Marge said Libby's track record is pretty "dog-gone" good, Bank reported.

"It's 100 percent. It's been 100 percent, yeah," Stiller said.

Stiller has been taking Libby to nursing homes, rehab hospitals and retirement communities for about 12 years.

She said she began to put two and two together after seeing newspaper obituaries days later of the people Libby wouldn't visit.

Stiller said this is the first time she's publicly admitting her beloved canine's special skill. She said it only happens around older folks and she never tells the people whose room Libby won't go in.

"I've seen her walk away from people who have tried to pet her or something, but I try to make myself believe she's just headed in another direction," Stiller said.

Researchers say dogs have an incredible sense of smell humans can only dream about. Dogs have already been proven to detect bladder cancer and breast cancer.

"They have also, apparently, been shown to be able to tell the difference between a mole on your skin and a melanoma, a skin cancer, on your skin," said Penn Veterinary Medicine's Dr. James Serpell, who studies human-animal interactions.

"All with their sense of smell? " Bank asked.

Serpell said most likely Libby smells the changes in body chemistry that happen just before someone dies.

"I think it's highly likely, yes," he said.

"You're a good girl. I love you so much," Stiller said, petting Libby.

Stiller said she never worries about Libby sensing her death.

And as far as when Libby may pass?

"She can't leave this earth until I do," Stiller said.

Stiller and Libby will be live at the NBC 10 studios Tuesday on "All That & More" at 4 p.m.

Someone told me a dog that attacks someone for no known reason attacks because it gets a scent of illness.. and that is its instinct in the animal world. Anyone hear of this.? a relative of mine was attacked by a friends dog, who knew her, for no apparent reason. It went for her neck first. My relative is OK but A psychic friend told me she should get a medical check up.

I came across another interesting story about cats and dog. I thought it was interesting they said pets are among the most psychic creatures on Earth and they readily see the angels and spirits that surround each of us. I always thought that was true just by observing my dog.

Cats continue to amaze with uncanny abilities

Do cats have ESP?

With only a few weeks before the spookiest day of the year, Halloween, I thought this month’s column should reflect some of the mysterious and fascinating abilities of our feline friends.

Anyone who has spent some time with a cat, or several cats, can attest to their tendency towards extrasensory perceptive ability.  Cats seem to have an uncanny ability to know when certain things are about to happen – like being taken to the vet or to a kitty hotel, without their caretaker having made any move towards the carrier.

Cats also seem to be able to pick up the energy around humans and identify who is a “cat person” and who isn’t.  Granted, many cat lovers tend to be able to tune into cat energy also, and “know” how much and what type of attention to give to the present cat.

Psychic and astrologer, Jeane Dixon, examines various feline phenomena in her aply-titled book, Do Cats Have ESP?  She examines how cats can often identify illness or emotional distress in their caretakers.

A news story from a few months ago highlighted a cat named Oscar who lives in a nursing home. He has the ability to know when a resident is about to leave this life and sits with that person, keeping company until the transition has happened.

There are several anecdotal reports of both cats and dogs pawing at or obsessively sniffing a particular area on their caretakers’ bodies. Only later is it discovered that that area contained cancer cells.

Dixon also investigates the study of “PSI” cats. PSI cats have demonstrated the ability to return home or to their true caretakers even though such a journey involves tremendous distance.

Dr. Joseph Banks Rhine, head of the Parapsychology Lab (now the Rhine Institute) at Duke University, spent years studying several types of psychic phenomena in both cats and humans. He discovered numerous examples of “homing” ability in cats.

The Rhine Institute also studied the possibility of mental telepathy between cats and humans. Dr. Rhine concluded in his article, The Present Outlook on the Question of Psi in Animals, published in the Journal of Parapsychology, that “there is clearly a lot to explain in animal behaviour that could be due to ESP and is not yet otherwise accounted for.”

Have you ever been holding your cat and she suddenly starts staring at something just past your shoulder or over in the corner?  But when you turn to look, you can’t see anything there?

Psychic Sylvia Browne says our pets are among the most psychic creatures on Earth and they readily see the angels and spirits that surround each of us.

Whether truly psychic, highly intuitive or just good guessers, cats continue to amaze us with their mysterious and uncanny abilities.
