Cinnamon and Honey the Miracle cure

I came across this in the news story and thought it was interesting. Sounds like covering yourself in honey is beneficial too.  ;)

Farrell admits his latest addiction ... to steam baths with strange Russian men while covered in honey

Last updated at 00:54am on 2nd March 2008

Hollywood hellraiser Colin Farrell has admitted he is hooked on taking Russian-style steam baths while covered in honey.

The star, who kicked a deadly drug habit, found his new addiction while filming in New York.

He was a daily visitor to the 10th Street Russian and Turkish Baths where guests are smothered in honey before steaming.

Farrell, 31, went on to use one of the few bathhouses in Belgium while shooting his new movie In Bruges. He is now a regular at Los Angeles bathhouses.

He told GQ magazine: "There's something very basic about rubbing honey on your skin and going steaming with a bunch of strange Russian men."

Farrell admitted he went to rehab to get off ecstasy, cocaine, speed, Jack Daniels and wine.

I am not so sure I would find the feeling of being slathered in honey a pleasant feeling.  It's very sticky.  ;)

I appreciate Colin Farrell's excitment about his new discovery, but "steaming w/strange Russian men" does not sound appealing to me.   icon_mocken   Especially if it includes a honey drenched naked Putin.

Honey might not be a good idea for infants.  According to the FDA "Do not feed a baby honey or syrup -- at least for the first 6 months. Honey and syrups can contain spores of Clostridium botulinum. The immune systems of adults and older children can prevent the spores from growing once ingested. However, in an infant, these spores can grow and cause infant botulism. DreamTime, thanks for the info on cinnamon.  I sometimes use the supplements to lower blood sugar.  I looked and, sure enough, it's cassia.

You're welcome Gertruda Rose. I was shocked when I went around even to the health food stores over here and all they had was cinnamon from the Cassia tree also. You would think that they would know about the health problems associated to that cinnamon - and labeling something 'organic' or 'all natural' doesn't make it any better.

Yeah...from your head!

BTW: for anyone out there who REALLY needs to lose weight...they didn't give an amount for the cinnamon and honey, so I just thought that I would use the amounts they gave for some of the other ones. A scant teaspoon of cinnamon and a tablespoon or so of honey.

Oh, and Asil, you better make sure you have the right cinnamon. I can guarantee that right now in your house you have the cassia type which is bad for your kidneys. And with all of your health problems, you don't need to add that to it too. So you have to get the proper cinnamon from Ceylon or Lanka. It is a lighter color and has a milder taste to it.

Hey.... I still take the cassia-type cinnamon.  I buy a big ol' bottle from Sam's for 7.00 I think (it's around $7.00) and take 2 caps in the morning.  Here's what the bottle looks like.  It's the same cinnamon the chinese use in five spice powder and grandmas on cinnamon buns.... :) ... but everyone's got to decide what to take and on their own.

My liver function tests have been okay so far, per my blood tests and doc.  My last blood test was in Sept 2007 and I've been taking the cinnamon for about a year.

I feel I must tell this story......- - -> I take two caps in the morning with my coffee.  One morning I took the caps, was talking to husband and burped .....and this *fog* like cloud came out of my mouth.

I said "did you just see that"!!!  It was the cinnamon powder coming up from my stomach.  It looked exactly like the scene in the old Willy Wonka movie where the Oommpa Loompa smokes something and then puffs and says "that's some good stuff".
