Computer Problems

Hi everyone, I thought I’d let you know that I had a major computer crash. I’ve already spent half the day trying to fix it and haven’t got anywhere yet. I think I might need a new hard drive or I have a major virus. I’m on DreamTime’s computer right now and she needs it for herself. So I won’t be online for awhile until I get my computer back up and running. :crybaby:

Can you run the computer in safe mode without crashing it? We can go from there and try a system restore, virus scan, or scandisk.

Hi SI,

Richard tried everything and now he is working on a clean install of windows to see if that will work. He said that either he got a bad file update from Zone Alarm or he got one "hell" of a virus. :eek:

Hi Dreamtime,

I see. I hope him luck with the clean install. Next time he should try Norton Ghost. That could back up his entire computer into CDs or DVDs. So instead of installing a clean Windows, these discs could have restored his computer back to even the smallest files.

  I hope Richard does not blame me, but last week I had a feeling of something like that and told Richard to back up the forum, but maybe It was his computer I was feeling!   I use to kick my computer but now its my friend and i pet it and love it and feed it cornflakes but it does not like the milk!

I'm on DT's computer again. It looks like my hard drive is fried. I went through all kinds of hell trying to get my computer going again and had no luck. My diagnostic software said “the smart threshold was exceeded” and that I should replace the drive. I don’t know what it meant by threshold was exceeded but I understood replace the drive. I had a feeling this would happen soon because notebook hard drives usually don’t last much longer than 3 years and mine just turned 3.

So I will have to go out and buy a hard drive tomorrow and try to get my computer going again. I know it’s going to be a long time consuming process installing all my software again, so I’m not sure when I’ll be back online. I’m hoping by Wednesday I get it going again and get back online. :pray:

Looks like you're ready for an upgrade in your inner computer (Mind).  Maybe some old mind-patterns crashed too??!! LOL  Your new communication energy will be interesting I'm sure. :big grin:  I will ask the Oversoul to make sure everything gets aligned and speeded up in the most helpful and beneficial way for you and all concerned. :)
