I would love to see that documentary.
This, so called, health bill is not a plan in which the government handles people's health costs. You still need to get insurance coverage either through an employer or a private plan, or Medicaid if you are eligible , or Medicare for those over 65 and the disabled, for which a premium is charged monthly. It is not like Universal Health care like other countries have.
The governments claim to fame is insurance companies cannot refuse coverage to an applicant because of pre-existing conditions, parents can have coverage on employer health plans for their children to age 26, so they say now everyone can have health insurance. In reality, its not that simple.
Yes, small businesses will suffer and some will close because they are being forced to provide expensive health insurance to all employees, even part time workers. The unemployed must have insurance, so if they are not eligible for Medicaid, they must purchase the insurance. If the government has a cheap plan for this, I haven't heard about it yet. Health insurance is mandatory and if a person does not have it there is $1500. fine.
There is so much more. I just feel our legislaters sold us out. I've been hearing about the sweatheart deals these congressmen got to vote yes. Congressman Stupec who held out with other Democrats for abortion changes, caved and was awarded something like $100M for a airports in his state. There are many others.
The majority of the people in this country did not want this bill but we seem to have reached a point in which the government does not listen to the people anymore. There is more to this bill than health care. It has to do with government control.
