Turn Around
Written by: Harry Belafonte / Alan Greene / Malvina Reynolds

Where are you going
My little one, little one
Where are you going
My baby, my own
Turn around and you’re two
Turn around and you’re four
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door

Turn around, turn around
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door

Where are you going
My little one, little one
Little pigtails, petticoats
Where have they gone
Turn around and you’re tiny
Turn around and you’re grown
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own

Turn around, turn around
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own

Where have they gone
My little ones, little ones
Where have they gone
My babies, my own
Turn around and they’re young
Turn around and they’re old
Turn around and they’re gone
And we’ve no one to hold

Turn around, turn around
Turn around and they’re gone
And we’ve no one to hold

Where are you going
My baby, my own

William: you got me too with that one!  SO weird, because it has been in my head for the last couple of days and I had even looked up the lyrics.

SI: it could be where you are at geographically adding to it, both on the anger and sadness level.  Getting outside in nature helps me some when I am really depressed.

That's why I chose Davis for my University. They have a good environment there. heh. But I still can't cry. Like what William helped me ask, what's the mind-pattern for not being able to cry? Maybe it's because my dad used to yell at me for crying.

Blocked emotions with supressed childhood memories.  Do the "Inner Child" release work.

Without success again, but I'll do it with the amphibian merger and see what happens. Thanks.

Yeah I'm back and my heads a little clearer too. :o)

we should have a thread for sexually charged songs....sigh.

DreamTime why does that song make you feel sad?? I can understand though a little about how beautiful it is to see a child growing up....and I know parents losing children is difficult...(maybe I've gone through it in a time stream affecting me on lesser intense frequencies)....

just curious!!!

Hi Purple Parrot,

I used to sing that song to my girls when they were babies. It has a lot of inside meaning to me since I went through a tragic period when my youngest was 10 - and I was separated from them for a time. So it seemed like every time I "turned around" they were older, needed me less, and I had missed so much of their lives. Now they're grown, and I can sing the song to my grandchildren - and still I am far away and missing out on so much of their lives.

Hi Dreamtime,

I used to sing "Turn Around " to my children when they were babies too.Today my youngest,my only girl moved out . She has been living on campus during school for the past 2 years(that was hard enough) but now she has an apartment and moved her room"stuff' from home. I've cried all day and can't walk past her old room without :crybaby:. At the moment it seems as though I'll never get over them all being gone.(Pisces Moon)It all happened so fast.

William,

I agree with you that crying is good for body and soul.

listen to your heart

Juan Verdera's life was next altered when he discovered that he had cancer. He was advised to begin an intensive course of chemotherapy. During this period, Juan found peace and relief in trance music. Over the course of one of his treatment sessions, Juan experienced a surge of inspiration that followed him home to his studio. It was under the influence of this inspiration that he wrote his famous track "Spiritual Healing". After this single was released, Juan began to recover. He is currently in good health.
