Distillers
#1
Hi everyone,

I am finally able to buy a distiller for next year. But I am clueless about what to buy. Stewart said that he has results with a "genesis." Does anyone know the website to purchase the genesis? Or have any better ideas for a distiller?

I wonder why some distillers are high up in the hundreds and others below 100 USD. Why the difference?

Thank you in advance.

Weng, another distiller you might want to look into is a living water distiller. Most distillers produce dead water. John Ellis invented a living water distiller using Viktor Schauberger's knowledge of water.

Here’s a link for more info.

Good information you have there. "Living water" sounds like it would cure ailments. I will buy this distiller when I'm settled financially and stuff. Right now I need a light one that produces a cup of water each time.

Why don’t you just buy bottled distilled water? I have to warn you that running a distiller is time consuming and uses a lot of electricity. They also produce a ton of heat. You also need to use soft water because hard water clogs them up with lime very quickly.

How long does the distiller run for? Do I need a new filter each time the lime clogs it up completely?

I have heard that supermarkets hold bottled distilled water, but I've never found any. I wonder if the major chain supermarkets have what I want. And by the way, thanks for warning me.

Each distiller has different run times. Larger distillers produce water faster. An average small one will take up to 5 hours to produce one gallon. Using hard water builds up lime scale on the inside of the unit and you have to use chemicals like Lime Away to clean it out of there.

Every supermarket I have been in carries distilled water. It usually is only available in gallon jugs. Walmart sells it for 57 cents a gallon.

That answers all of my questions. Thank you, Richard. I don't feel that a distiller between 100-300 USD is worth 5 hours for one gallon. Next year I will have to find a way to reach the supermarket without a car. Davis is more like a town than a city.
