Clark was having a day from hell.

Dean Germeyer's "shiny shoes" sparked a conversation between the Chicago businessman and 79-year-old Elsie Clark during a flight from Dallas to O'Hare. When Germeyer heard Clark was stranded at the airport, he helped her out.

Stranded at O’Hare without her luggage after airline blunders and bad weather made her miss two flights to her Winnipeg home, the frail Canadian grandmother faced an even grimmer night in an airport lounge.

That’s when a shiny-shoed Chicago businessman rode to her rescue like a Good Samaritan in a Frank Capra holiday movie.

Dean Germeyer, 43, took Clark home to his wife, fed her, took her on a guided tour of the city, put her up in a classy downtown hotel and arranged for a car to take her to the airport in the morning.

“It devastated me that a human being could be so kind to a stranger,” a grateful Clark said Tuesday. “It makes me bawl just thinking about it.”

Actually, there are lots n lots of people who love to help others just for the sake of it, just to see their reaction of being so appreciative,.. but the circumstances don't exist to make such miracles possible

Very true!

I recently was having a very bad day and was driving home on the freeway and in front of me was a RV pulling a truck, and all of a sudden it started smoking then BAM I see flames. They saw the smoke and pulled over. So I pulled over in front of them and ran out to my trunk and grabbed my fire extinguisher (I carry them in all cars because when I was 17 I had a car with hydraulics that would like to catch on fire after hopping too much, so from that point on I carry extinguishers). Come to find out the guy driving the RV left the car in 1st gear and not neutral and because the RV is a bus it pulled it like nothing and ruined the car. So because I saw they were from out of town I called up AAA and got them towed to a repair shop of their choice. They tried to give me money, but I did not want that. By me helping and being there at that time made me feel great.
