Horror Movies
#1
I have this tendency to watch a lot of horror movies these days. In the past I wouldn't get bugged out as much but these days I really do feel so much fear watching the silly horror scenes. I always know that people are going to die but the sequence and how they die is interesting. I get frustrated by the idea that people get separated from larger groups into smaller groups or they do stupid tempting things to get near the villain or evil entity when they shouldn't.

I wonder if this is symbolic of losing friends and family members as well as reinforcing the concept of loneliness? Also weakening someone as well?

I just saw Jeepers Creepers and I hate giving the ending away but basically someone lost someone so close that a part of me really wanted to cry for them because I thought that this would be terrible if this happened to me or a person that is close to me.

I thought this movie was terrible in that sense...to bring up such a concept. This movie was one horror movie that was difficult to watch--I've seen House of Pain, Saw, WishMaster 3(I think its Sean Connerys son who plays the villain?), Land of the Dead,Event Horizon, Texas Chainsaw Massacre,The Exorcist, etc and these were the horror movies that have scenes that I'm still disturbed by. I haven't seen the Nightmare on Elmstreet movies because I dont think I could handle Freddy Krueger slicing and dicing people in eccentric ways. I was somewhat able to tolerate some scenes from Jason(the sci fi version) and Halloween 20.I'm afraid to see that Rob Zombie movie thats out on pay per view and movies in demand right now...I think there's only so much slasher killer thriller films I can take right now.

Okay I feel so silly right now but what do you guys think about horror movies...they always seem to have the same plots.

I don’t care much for horror movies. It sounds like you like scarier movies than even Dreamtime will watch and she loves fear based movies. Have you always liked horror movies, even as a kid?

The classical movie "Psycho" of Alfred Hitchcock has a very good end scenario explaining different things about mind-control, alter personalities,  spiritism and possession.

Why do we love fear based movies? What does it mean if we are becoming less desensitized to movies that trigger fear, violence and sexuality?

I think the desensitizing is intended to prepare us for public rituals.

Personally, I watch them to see how people SURVIVE - not die.  I guess I'm a survivor at heart and I like to see all the possible ways of surviving.  You never know when it may come in handy. :slywink:

Oh...and I really liked the Nightmare on Elm Street movies.  I hated the Jason movies though.  Figure that one out.

lol yeah I forgot about that survival perspective too. That was why I sorta liked zombie movies--how people survived on next to nothing and what they used to destroy the zombies. Have you seen Shaun of the Dead?? That movie was pretty funny lol. It was good to watch after watching Dawn of the Dead(everyone lives in a mall and determines how they would survive there,etc..Sarah Polley from Avonlea was in it..big shock eh?). I sort of know what to do in case of zombies--I'll get me a flame thrower or anything thats flammable to burn 'em up and something really sharp to stab them in the head. Just hopefully they're not the smart zombies from Land of the Dead.  In case of getting chased by the alien from the Alien quadrilogy, I dont know dudes. You got me on that one. Same deal with Jason because he's immortal. I'd probably wait in the Winchester drinking tea until this whole thing blows over lol.

You know whats good to do? Watch comedy movies after watching a really scary horror movie. I was cured of The Ring after watching Scary Movie 3(that one had a different director/producer than the other two Scary Movies...and it poked fun at The Sixth Sense, Matrix 2,Signs(I can never watch Signs again without laughing during every scene!),The Ring, Independence Day, The Others, etc).

The Grudge was scary....japanese version (Ju-On) was scarier..except the scene where the ghost really looked more like a stick with a wig covering a mop....coming out of a bathroom stall.

lol

Japanese horror is interesting...The Eye 2 and Premonition were good...

I'm doing a lot of fear flushing out of my system....Giuseppe suggested that I visualize the word fear at my pineal gland and flush it in violet. Thank you Giuseppe!!!

Since im a girly man i dont like Horror movies that much.  But i do watch them sometimes.....  I will watch them if they are Space or scifi kinds.

Have yall seen Pumpkin Head  , I liked that one because it was kinda witchcrafty.

I have shaun of the Dead but not watched it yet.

Love the comedy ones , like the "scary movies"......

To be honest when i was younger i would feel the horror movies and would feel them in the area of boosting energies like greed, arrogance, power of dominance, vengful rage........   They hurt the lower part of my stomach.

I feel like I abuse myself enough this life.

And now i will recite my poem,   An ode to spittle little

Oh, how i drewl for you little spittle little .......  The rain shines for you...... my love is wet with longing, how i praise you for not being a dry lump of clay...................................... the end .
