Hyperspace Commune

There is a website about "intentional communities". I'm not sure of it's addy any longer but you  can just google it. It has info about existing communities and  you can get a feel about what's involved in the processs of forming one etc.

One that's been around since the '70's that I'm familiar with is The Farm in Summertown Tennessee . Been there done that. I had a few friends that helped in it's inception and development but have since moved on. Many folks that are there have been there since the beginning.

I'm not promoting it. Just an example of one that worked and survived despite tremendous odds and many trials and tribulations.

The Farm's website is   www.thefarm.org .

Interestingly enough after I posted the info about the Farm I was contacted by someone informing me that one of my friends from that time and place just passed away. I had lost contact with them but the conversation about communes brought them to mind and I  had been thinking of those folks quite often lately. Upon contacting their family I was told that they had been thinking of me alot lately as well. Also was informed of another friends death  from that time and place  from last year.
It's curious as none of those folks read this site.

Cool talent, MN. Once in a while I am able to do that also - hear about someone or something that I was thinking of.

Also sorry to hear about your friend.

Thanks AJ and DT. I was actually surprised at the range of emotions I have been going through since learning of the deaths. When you live like that ,communally, and for a time , and deal with what we had to etc. you become like family.I suppose I  thought I'd never "swim that river again." :?

How about somewhere in the appalachian mountains, i mean seriously how much trouble could a community get into by settling in a national park, we could requisition the government for land or something, especially if it were non profit and we could even be guides for hikers and stuff?

Would never happen, Diajin. The govt. would never allow it to happen.
