Debunking the Drones

Article written: 9:05 pm, Sunday July 08, 2007 Digg this Story!!

Recent sightings of the so-called 'Drones' has prompted widespread speculation on internet forums and a flurry of news reports from within the UFO community from websites and in major media outlets. Very clear photographs of the drones have reportedly come from multiple different sources, centering around the Lake Tahoe area allegedly going as far back as 1995, but with no proof to that effect. The drones appear in several different configurations, normally characterized by a large hair-like array on top, and what appear to be large booms protruding from the sides of the craft, complete with strange writing on the exterior.

The drones are a hoax. This case is reminiscent of the Billy Meier hoaxed photographs and film footage. There is no substantial proof or credibility offered in either case, and these photographs upon first glance are even more phony in general appearance than the majority of Meier's. For instance, the drone craft appears similar to a ceiling fan with an eggbeater on top, not very convincing even to the the earnest UFO believer when compared to past, more legitimate, mass sightings of black triangles and discs.

We live in the post-Photoshop world, which has proven painful for the UFO field. Anyone can hoax a UFO photograph with knowledge of Photoshop, basic camera work and editing, or CGI movie making abilities. It is imperative in light of these techniques to keep an objective viewpoint when analyzing photographs and video footage of UFO's. At the Paranormal report, we certainly believe that some UFO's appear to represent a superior intelligence of unknown, perhaps extraterrestrial origin, but this does not seem to be the case with the drone UFO's.

MUFON field investigators have already very convincingly debunked the photographs as being CGI generated, but it seems to be deeper than just a good old fashioned hoax.

The case has been linked to the CARET (Commercial Applications Research for Extra-terrestrial Technology) documents that have been surfacing recently from an anonymous source named 'Isaac'. Without getting into the problems inherent in anonymous sources releasing unverified documents, even this source claims that he is not familiar with the craft as a whole, but only sees similarities in the style of writing on the drone aircraft to that which he claims to have worked with in the 1980's. This is not silver bullet cooroboration of evidence as some have claimed, it is simply an association about how the writing looks from an anonymous releaser of unproven, very new and not yet well scrutinized documents.

Mystery of the Dragon Fly UFO Drones May Be Solved

by Bill Knell

Photos of odd-looking UFOs that eventually became known as the Dragonfly Drones appeared on the internet in 2007. The initial photos were allegedly taken in Capitola, California, and show an object hovering over a power line. After the drones became a hot topic of discussion on major UFO research blogs and websites, new photos appeared that were taken in other places by different witnesses. Now, the mystery of where these drones come from and what they are may be partially solved.

The Dragonfly Drones are not new. If you shift through any number of reports on various UFO websites, you’ll discover that sightings go back as far as the 1980s. A number of eyewitnesses have reported seeing these objects since that time. Photos are few and far between, but that may be due to the smaller size of the things and the need to be close enough to capture a good image.

Most of the Dragonfly Drone sightings occurred in specific areas of the South and Southwest. These areas were near military facilities or technical centers where private companies were working on various U.S. Government contracts. That might make you believe that these objects are just conventional reconnaissance craft being developed for the government, but I believe that the answer is a lot more complicated than that.

When I first saw the 2007 Capitola photos, I wasn’t thinking about photographic trickery or manipulation. The object in the photos reminded me of a strange device that I saw demonstrated in a friend’s garage in the mid-1980s. During that time I had many friends working in the technical community on Long Island. Because of my interest in UFOs, it wasn’t unusual for some of them to invite me to speak about my paranormal research at various lunch, brunch or afternoon workplace gatherings. These were held once a week to boost morale at companies working on government contracts.

I enjoyed talking about my UFO investigations and was always surprised at how many people attended these events. Many of them came because they had their own UFO or paranormal experiences and wanted to share them. Others had inside information that they wanted to share with me later. Such was the case of David, a friend that I knew for many years. He thanked me for speaking at the weekly meet and greet in his workplace and had a few questions. The subject of the Philadelphia Experiment came up at that meeting.

David was particularly interested in the Philadelphia Experiment because he told me that his father had been involved with it. His late father was a gifted engineer. During a phone conversation the next day, he invited me over to his house that weekend. When I arrived, he showed me several pages from his father’s journal. Among other things, it made a number of references to several government projects his dad was involved with during World War II.

David’s father was originally hired to work on a Navy project that involved developing a system of magnetic and sound detection devices to protect our harbors against infiltration by enemy ships and submarines. However, when he arrived at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard where the project was headquartered, things changed. He suddenly found himself working on a secret program to demagnetize ships against German Mines and make them radar invisible. That eventually morphed into a program to make ships optically invisible.

To make a long story short, I believe that the project eventually resulted in the development of technologies involving time travel, anti-gravity and mind control devices. One of the reasons that I believed David’s story about his father’s involvement was a demonstration he gave me. After stepping into his garage, he showed me a small device that he built from information provided in the journal. It looked like a large metal Frisbee with a small instrument package attached to it. It was obviously something that David built.

After installing a 9 volt battery in the instrument package, he placed the object in the middle of his garage floor and asked me to step back. After reaching down and flipping a small switch, the object quickly rose straight up to the garage ceiling with no noise and no visible signs of propulsion. It stayed on the ceiling vibrating for a bit, than fell to the ground.

I was astonished, but David seemed disappointed. He looked at the instrument package and said that one of the leads from the battery came loose. David said that if it hadn’t, the object would have remained against the garage ceiling until he climbed up on a ladder and turned it off or until the battery wore out. I had a million questions, but knew better than to ask. David had already risked much by showing me a few pages from his father’s journal and the demonstration of his homemade anti-gravity device.

Although David’s device was not as large as one of the Dragonfly Drones, it had many similarities. I believe the two must be connected in one way or another. The bizarre thing about the drones and David’s device is that they represent a technology that was far beyond our capability at that time or presently. Based on statements that I heard by various military and technical people over the years, I believe some are able to work with technologies that are at least one hundred years ahead of what most of us have in our homes. Where did those technologies come from?

There can be no doubt that some of the secret, advanced technologies are from alien hardware, while others may have come from limited time travel capabilities. Regardless of all that, what is the purpose of these drones and who is operating them? Based on what I saw in David’s garage on Long Island, I have to believe that humans are involved in one way or another. It’s possible that these are observation devices being used by humans, aliens, humans and aliens or by people that live in the future and want a non-invasive window to the past.
