Massive 8.9 Earthquake Hits Japan

A massive 8.9 earthquake hit Japan Friday afternoon (local time) causing widespread flooding and damage across the Japanese islands, including Tokyo.

The quake hit at 2:46pm local time (5:46 UTC) and resulted in tsunamis that inundated large parts of the east coast of Japan.

According to reports, a tsunami as high as 10m hit parts of Japan, with lower surges recorded across other areas. TV footage showed flowing water across massive amounts of farm land and residential areas.

At the time of writing at least 13 people were believed to have been killed, with possibly hundreds more missing, as authorities try to get into affected areas.

Earthquake warnings were given across the Pacific, notably Hawaii, which saw massive coastal evacuations. At the time of writing the tidal wave was still several hours away from the United States’ Pacific Island State.

Reports claim that the tsunami wave may be the 5th largest wave ever recorded.

More when we have it.

The earthquake in Japan has been upgraded to a 9.1 on the Richter scale. Unbelievable! Plus, I believe volcanos went off in Russia and Japan at the same time. And Indonesia's had another quake, too.

The whole pacific basin is under stress, and one can only guess the next hit, I would say San Francisco, what a terrible time for the Japanese, my heart truly goes out to the people in that region, but again it is a positive to see the world respond, I see that as the main energy we all should be looking at.

the following are 2 most graphic video footage i found on youtube,, they are simply heart-stopping and shocking to watch

in 1st one, look closely at power-poles just 'left' of bridge,,, you know how tall electrical power poles are,,, and look at the water level around them,,, also look at how close to the top of the bridge the water raised to,,, many meters above street level

here is live footage of 10METER tsunami... look carefully and you see,,, read the HEIGHTS listed in the box that occured as time elapsed in the same town (they list for a few towns during the video)  after halfway through the video, you'll see it hit 10 meters at some place,,, this is throat choking stuff

Astrojewels, from the standpoint of astrology analysis, could you see all this coming in 2011? That is, disasters in nature--earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. Is this what will be in store for the Earth in 2011 and 2012 because of man-made pollution and abuse of the environment? Or is it merely nature going through its normal cycles as nature has done for eons?
