The LaFayette dynasty is very known in Europe. Big players, major Illuminati. They have a big dept store named after them in Paris. Politically important like Sariel says.

The first 'appearing in this reality' of the LaFayette dynasty is the Maréchal Gilbert de Lafayette around 1380 who is said to have been a companion (acquaintance) of Joan of Arc.
