Mom put baby's body in attic, police say
#1
FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (AP) -- The body of an 11-month-old girl reported missing after her soldier father returned from a deployment in Iraq was found in the attic of her home, authorities said.

Harmony Jude Creech apparently had been dead for weeks, Harnett County Sheriff Larry Rollins said late Saturday night. Rollins said the child's mother, Johni Michelle Heuser, told investigators she had found the baby dead in its crib and put the body in the attic of her home.

Neighbors said they had been bothered by a foul smell for several weeks and that the smell only subsided recently when overnight temperatures dropped. Several neighbors said they had searched their yards for dead animals because of the smell.

Harmony's father, Ronald Earl Creech II, returned to North Carolina from a 15-month deployment in Iraq on Friday hoping to see his daughter. Harmony was born while he was overseas, police said.

Creech is assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, which is based at Fort Bragg.

Rollins said Creech was picked up at Pope Air Force Base on Friday by his mother and driven to his daughter's home near Spring Lake. They awakened the baby's mother and found the baby missing.

An Amber Alert was issued after the baby was reported missing.

Rollins said investigators were still interviewing Heuser, and the investigation continues. Watch sheriff on what the mother has told police »

An autopsy will be performed on the child's body to determined how she died, police said.

Another example of a mother not being in her right mind and blocking out what happened.

If she found the baby dead, like SIDs why would she hide the body like that? She would call the ambulance, but where are her friends and family, they would surely ask where is the baby? This is like the suitcase murder and it has intent for many negative things, I wonder if there will be any more like it.

There is a mother of 4, who lives in Ocean City, Maryland (right down the road from me practically!)  .... who was arrested this past summer for killing three of her fetuses and one stillborn infant.  She gave birth to her last child while on her toilet, wrapped the infant in a towel and put it under the bathroom cabinet, then she passed out on the bathroom floor and that's when her husband discovered her and took her to the hospital.

When the investigation started on her property, the baby in the bathroom was discovered along with three other babies buried around her property in plastic bags. There is no law in Maryland to prevent the mother from keeping the remains of the stillborn infant (the one in the bathroom under her sink) ....in her home.

All charges against this mother, 1st and 2nd degree murder as well as manslaughter under the viable fetus law, were dropped by the State's Attorney Office.    Also it was thought the mother's alleged cocaine use contributed to the death of her babies but she could not be charged  because the Maryland Court of Appeals ruled just last August women who use cocaine or other drugs while pregnant cannot be prosecuted under the state’s reckless endangerment statute for harming the children they are carrying.

Sily, it's so hard to fathom things like this even when you know what you know.  How to not become cynical sometimes?

I do get that way at times (cynical and sarcastic) but I get physically ill if I stay to *dark* and *depressed* for too long.  I much prefer to be happy, laugh and have fun... makes me feel better.

I think I may have killed  few people in my past lives.  :paranoid:  But this life I try to steer away from death and murder as much as I can.  I also try to steer away from having babies and then burying them in my back yard.  Different lives I suppose for different folks.

Well, if we all are a bunch of murderers in one life or another, then why does it bother and shock us?  :-)  (Tongue kind of in cheek)

I guess different attitudes and emotions for different lives?  :)

Polly, our post total almost equals the same number.  I can't believe I've had 400+ things to say here.  But it's been fun.

Many people, even those who are knowledgeable with the truth of the world are still not grasping the certainty that we are entering a different level of consciousness. Time, space, reality and delusion are part of the separation of who rises and remains. The in-between is complex and extensive and will be destructive; the minds of the population will split in two critical ways. Yet the basic principles remain in all occurrences that we will see.
This headline is part of that complex understanding, for most of us we can not comprehend or even try to recognize how a human can do this, but for those who do; do not have the same concept on life that we share; therefore to take a life in their mind has a totally different meaning to you and I.
The basic principle of the universal energy is left and right, negative/positive, two notions. The mind can be controlled, manipulated, twisted and spilt into endless personalities and alters; the mind can be influenced to think with particular patterns. During this separation of consciousness, the mind will be the weapon of defense and destruction.
So if we accept this woman to be labeled as ‘un-sound mind’ then we accept the excuse, there are no excuses in my mind for this, none! We live in a society where every suburb, street and city has help for anyone that requires it, and this is simply manipulation from those who try and control us, through the media with the purpose to fill our pure thoughts with the oppression of human behavior, and that negative may somehow override positive.
We are collective spirits, and we can be controlled through others actions because of the instinctive love we have for each other.
Just some thoughts to think about!
