Question for Dream Interpreters
#1
Okay, I have a question that I have wondered for quite a while now. I know that all dream interpreters always say that you can only dream about yourself and that everything in your dream is something about you. Well, what about the dreams people have that warn them of things happening? Or what about when relatives come and give messages in dreams? What about prophetic dreams? Those have all been documented. The people who had the dreams certainly weren't dreaming of themselves when they happened. Aren't there exceptions to the pat statement that we can only dream of ourselves?

DT, I agree with you. While many of my dreams are about me, I have also had prophetic dreams about other people.

I have had dreams like you listed above and then also, dreams or thoughts come to me of *help* - the last one was where to find a lost letter from work that I could not find while fully awake the day before.  "It's in your desk door to the right". I also want to say there is a state of not fully awake and not fully asleep that some very interesting things have happened to me.

Dream Time, it is not true that all dreams are always about self.  For most people, most dreams are about self would be a more true statement.  Some people have varying degrees of dreams which fall into other categories.

DT, I agree with Polly, I am not a dream interpreter but I have a good knowledge of mind patterns which is part of dreaming, there are many people that have visions through dreams of events to come, and when out of the dream state they have no clairvoyant ability, and others it is vice versa. I am sure that all dreams somehow do relate back to you for a reason, yet when you dream like you say it is more about you as a collective and we need to channel our energy in a collective form rather than an individual one.  It can also be about the mental power of the person chosen to deliver the message, and who would believe or take that message serious? So there are many factors involved with those who do dream of past and future events.
